Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2017

are you sure CAS doesn’t take major into account? I was hoping they did

CALS admits by major

Sciman np but dont lose hope. maybe it’s by which college you applied to at cornell and the one i applied has posted fin aid and urs hasnt. best of luck to the both of us.

well, that’s a plus for me. Atmospheric Science (CALS) is a small major :D

anyone else doing Atmospheric Science?

ladeedaax it seems pretty accurate to me. have you used the cornell net price estimator? i found the 2 estimates to be within $800 of each other.

Im Biometrics and Statistics (CALS) which is close to atmosphereic science but because of the size of my major, i am not very confident with my chances. Though i would LOVE to attend Cornell. I heard its beautiful and scenic

@mmatt- umm, not sure, that’s just from what I have heard. I don’t think you even officially declare a major in CAS till later on

@BreakingGrace- Yeah, I did use the estimator, however both my parents, divorced, calculated their thing on their own, so I wasn’t sure if it would be accurate to add up
the totals they got. Though I could use a little bit more money, I am not complaining and would be satisfied and grateful to get my predicted amount

@SciMan- I am doing Biometry and Statistics as well. I heard it’s veryy small. Which is either good or bad…I am now leaning towards the latter…

im not cals so dont let this thread stress you out. btw have u guys seen [This Is on Vimeo](http://vimeo.com/23897683) that vid is what convinced me to ed to cornell over northwestern

@ladeedaax, I don’t think you declare a major until sophomore year. In CALS are you bound to the major you declare on the app?

I talked to admissions in CALS, and every undergraduate college at Cornell admits differently. CALS does admit by major, so that’s why they ask you to pinpoint the major with your passion in your essay. However, you should note that CALS wants students who have a specific major going in. This information is also on their website.

@Sciman

did you barely turn in all of your financial aid stuff or did you turn everything you needed to on november 6th? Because I barely got something taken off my financial to do list and I don’t have a financial aid amount either…

@baegopa

i turned everything in end of october, thought it was all due nov1st. I am really starting to worry that only ppl who are accepted get to see their fin aid packages, which makes sence bc only those who are admitted get amdission letters and award letters for fin aid. Im so sad right now because they should be about done with decisions gonna cry in corner and theres still 7 days to face the truth…

Does anyone NOT have numbers when they use their appicantid, go to fin aid to do list, student center, view fin aid??? I dont want to be the odd one out

you guys are searching for answers that are just not there. it doesn’t mean anything. get over it.

financial aid and admissions are totally separate. you’ll find out in 7 days. there’s no answer before then. whatever happens, happens.

SciMan, I think you’re over thinking this (along with everyone else). I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that admissions and financial aid are not associated with one another in any way. As in the admissions people don’t know if you need aid, and the financial people don’t know if you’re admitted (until after the fact).

Yeah on my thin for finacial aid, it is still saying pending. Do you guys see numbers next to how much you asked?

6 days guys!!

Hi this is my first time posting! One question… if i go to the check application status and click student center under financial aid, a whole page concerning class schedules, courses, etc. comes up. I just don’t know if it was there a few weeks ago. Do other people have this? I’m probably just getting my hopes up!

^Omg do you watch Lost? (Drive shaft)

YES! I love LOST!
