The advantage to doing bio through CALS is that you don’t have to do foreign language if you went into CAS instead.

Just something to keep in mind.

hmmm…ED CAS bio+Japanese…now that’s something I’d be willing to stomach
(<-- half japanese)

I need to start them damn essays…and my reprep for SATs, and get those recs sorted out, and then those pesky supplements, and…

wait, what am I even doing here at this time? lol

Just curious, any other CHE applicants out there? Any HBHS?

cals biology and society ED
how’s everyone’s supplement essay going?
3 words: work. in. progress.

Good luck to everyone! Applying to CALS as Bioengineering major!

Good to luck to all! ILR ED’er here :)

Good luck go you too Zack!

A little less than three weeks to go until the deadline!! How are all you guys doing?

Things left to do: Embellishing my common app activities section and politely pestering my APUSH teacher about when she’ll finish my recommendation.

I just finished my app and sent it in. Don’t underestimate how paranoid you can get right before you click submit

ED to CAS, Astronomy + English (concentration in Creative Writing)…hopefully that’s unusual enough to make them take notice…

appplicant: How are you already finished?!?!?!? Mine isn’t getting in until October 31st hahahaha

Has anyone received confirmation that Cornell has received their 2018 ED app?

In addition, has anyone else had a problem with their essays disappearing after they were sent through common app to Cornell?

Nope. I’m in the same boat, toothdoktor. I’ve been emailing with the admissions staff, and they told me that they are currently woking on transfer materials, and hadn’t sent out any confirmations as of yet. They said that if you have successfully submitted your app within the Common App, you’re good to go.

Don’t know anything about essays disappearing, sorry.

ForeverFish: I’ve been working on my Cornell essays since the Summer. I’ve gotten edits from a multitude of people and it was just time. I’m so happy that the ball is finally in their court and I look forward to getting the news.

I double-applied to AEM and CAS for econ. It’s weird, though, to be saying apply in the past tense now. Hopefully the news for one of them is good.

Good luck to those who are still in the application process.

For those who are having trouble seeing the PDF-generated preview of their common app because it keeps coming up blank, try zooming in and out. The information should display correctly then!

And I’m not sure about why your essays disappeared either :C As long as they were sent through successfully though, I’m sure it’s fine, although if you’re really concerned maybe you could contact a common app rep to see what’s up.

I just submitted my application. AAAAH! TOO excited :D

I just want to ask again if anyone has received their confirmation of application from Cornell…
All of my other schools have sent me something but Cornell has yet to.

I didn’t receive a confirmation yet

Applying ED to SHA! ahhhhh
I just submitted my app…I’m so nervous. I feel like I should be doing something right now, but I’m not sure what to do!

For those who are wondering why you have not heard from Cornell:

Update from Cornell University Regarding Common Application Submission – October 2013

As of October 16, Cornell University has not been able to download freshman admission applications from the Common Application. The Common Application has reported significant challenges with its new online system which is impacting over 500 Common Application member institutions (including Cornell). If you have submitted an application through the Common Application online (anytime from August to the present), we anticipate that we will begin processing those applications within the next few days. Once we have downloaded and processed freshman applications, applicants will receive a confirmation email from us and then be directed to set up an application status account to track our receipt of required materials. We sincerely appreciate your patience during this time. The application deadline for Early Decision is November 1 and we ask that you continue to check our website for updates.

Thank you!
