Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2018

@crowlady: Cornell is need-blind, so financial aid doesn’t have any bearing on admissions.

In case I don’t get in, are my stats in line for other ivies (mostly Penn and Columbia)? 96 unweighted GPA, top 10%, 1530 (cr+m)/2230 sat and 34 act, president of technology students of america, president of vex robotics, member of first robotics core team and math league. Combined with a good amount of volunteer hours, sports, and most rigorous course at school. Cornell CoE is still my top choice because its close to home.

@HopefulHotelie I’m also a guy applying to SHA!

Do you guys ever think that you should’ve done something differently, that you made a mistake while you were applying? Since I applied early decision I had never done a lot of this stuff. Well I know now, and applying regular decision to schools, my application has changed. It’s nothing totally major, an activity swap out and a little more personal voice in the essay, but it takes away the feeling of perfection this was supposed to have.

@dougieb92 - Heyyyy :slight_smile: Good luck with the app, and hopefully we’ll both have something to celebrate at Decision Day :slight_smile: So are you an international student or US citizen?

@thrombocyte - I mean I get where you’re coming from, everyone always says that you’ll never be a 100% satisfied with your application, I mean I liked both my essays, but if there was one thing I could change, it would be the last sentence of my commonapp, I don’t have a better ending for it or anything, I just don’t LOVE the one I used :p

@crowlady
I think that the form is nothing critical.

After you guys submit the form, did you send an e-mail to tell the office so that they can update the info?

oh wow its December already.
really nervous right now
I’m an asian guy applying to CoE
anyone else applying to CoE as well?

@HopefulHotelie02
Hey man! I’m applying to CoE and I’m from Pakistan too! So what’s your name?

@Heisenberg95 - Before my name, I wanna know which part of Pakistan are you from? I’m from Karachi, you? :)

Check your inbox.

@wulawula Nah, I’m not going to bother them with an email. I got an automatic confirmation that it was uploaded. I agree with @foreverfish – admissions is need-blind. Just trying to speed up a FA decision.

@hockeyeng ditto. I’ve been stalking Cornell on way too many forums.

And someone told me that the higher acceptance for women in engineering isn’t hook related at all. Comparatively, very few girls apply, but those who do are mostly more qualified for and passionate about engineering than their male counterparts.
How cool is that! :-P

I feel the same way. I sort of wish I applied RD now despite the fact that Cornell is by far my first choice, simply because my essay was way too vague earlier. I just know that if I get rejected, it’ll be because it - on the other hand I feel like if I applied with the drastic changes I made, I could get in (I’m much more confident with my recent draft).

I just want decision date to get here…

@bizmajorlar - Yeah I understand, I just want to know the decision date so I can start preparing myself :(

Just got an email from the school I’m applying to at Cornell and thought it ws going to be about the ED decision date… but it was just another informational email. :frowning: what a let down

SHA hasn’t sent me a single email :(

Cornell hasn’t sent a single e-mail to me, either.:scream:

We will all be fine no matter what school we end up at, but Cornell is so great. I hope it works out for everyone! Good luck guys
