Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2018

Just received and set up my Cornell ID login! For some reason, it says that my application has been received, but my application fee has not. Also, on the status page, the Intended School and Intended Major spaces are blank. Is anyone else experiencing something similar to this?

Got mine today as well. It says that my app fee was not paid. I have a payment conf# I guess I’ll call or email them Monday with the confirmation that I paid.

on dougieb92, it is because it might take them a few days to download the information of our applications, they stated it on the website.

I received my Cornell ID as well! I am even so happy for having it, I don’t know how i will feel if i get accepted :D

My application fee seems to be paid though

Thanks guys!

AAH, guys good luck!

Haha, good luck to you guys too! I’ll probably be submitting my app tomorrow. MEEP. I’m trying to stall so that I have some semblance of control over my app, because once it’s submitted…it’ll all be in the hands of the adcoms.

We can do this!!

I submitted my app today - Nutrition in CALS. December 15th cannot come soon enough!

Is December 15th the official day?

Oh, maybe it’s not. Oops! I don’t know why I thought it was.

Who else wishes we could just find out right now, yes or no, if you got in? I know i do.

Does anyone know whether or not Cornell allows to change ED application to RD? My D applied the ED but she is really not convinced herself for ED committment. Unfortunately, it happens after her ED application. Any info before we contact the office will be greately appreciated.

@rafael, i believe all u have to do is simply call or write to the admissions office asking them to defer your application

Question: If I apply ED to Cornell, and am accepted, but get a better financial aid package through another school, am I committed to attend Cornell, regardless of the financials?

Less than 10 days to go!! In two weeks we’ll be biting our fingernails and nervously eating every snack within arm’s reach (that’ll be me, at least)

I think that FA is a lot less flexible when you apply early, although I’m not sure. If you are accepted early then you’ll be required to withdraw your apps from all other schools if you’ve already sent them out, but if the financial aid offer really isn’t enough, then you can permanently withdraw your app.

I’d suggest plugging all of your financial info into Cornell’s FA calculator and seeing what sort of numbers come up before making a decision. Good luck, and don’t forget to apply for any scholarships that you qualify for!

Thanks. I’ve done the calculations, and it looks like i’d get a “package” that is affordable based on my families income. However, it doesn’t look like it will be as much as other schools are already offering in automatic merit based scholarship. So the question is, do I get to decide what an acceptable financial package is or does Cornell decide? I feel I have a solid chance of admission with early decision, but probably a narrow chance with regular decision. I would love to go to Cornell, but certainly don’t want my family burdened with a big tuition payment, when I can go somewhere else (not ivy league) and have close to a full ride. Decisions, decisions. Any advice?

Applying Cornell ED College of Human Ecology!
Best of luck to everyone!

CT1417, Thanks for your clarification. Now I know these emails are for recruiting and not the communication after applying. I just wish all ED applicants get the best chances of getting in. :-)

Hooray! The ED deadline has been pushed back a week to the 8th; now we’ll have more time to perfect our applications!

Verbatim from email notice sent out this morning:

“Cornell University’s early decision deadline has been extended to Midnight (EST) on Friday, November 8. This deadline has been extended for all application materials, including school forms, recommendations, required portfolios for the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, and required interviews for the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning and for the School of Hotel Administration.”

I am going for SHA!
is it just me or are there not many Hotelies around?
