The 16th sounds so far away, but trying to think positively it really is not. This weekend will fly by and then itll only be 7 days. Make it through the week, enjoy next weekend and 5pm on monday will be here in no time

Can’t wait until the 16th!!!

Do y’all have any friends waiting for early decisions as well? Two of my friends applied to UChicago and one to MIT-we are all so nervous about the decisions!

PAM in Human Ecology! Same here!

For those of you who applied to Human Ecology:

I just want to say that you are pretty much in.

Why? Overall acceptance rate for Human Ecology is 30.8%, and we are applying for early, which boost the chance to about 45% I would say.

Unless you are under 1700 or getting a 3.0 in school…you are pretty much in. Just enjoy the rest of the day and get ready to go to Cornell!

Is it harder to get into HumEc from OOS since it’s a statutory college? I’m not from NY :/

And…I doubt that the 70% that doesn’t get in all have 1700s and 3.0s. Cornell’s still an Ivy League school so it has to live up to its standards. I actually know of a kid a couple years ago who had really high stats and seemed to really fit in HumEc, but he got deferred from ED. I still don’t know why he got deferred, but it was really surprising. He did get in RD though.

@cicit123 what kind of extracurricular activities did you do? I didn’t take any subject tests so I’m a little worried about that. I’m also an out of state applicant!

@cicit123 did you get any emails from Cornell about ILR??

@pomplamousse

No I didn’t get anything from ILR…I did not apply to ILR so maybe they are not interested in me?

haha i made a countdown clock for anyone who wants it…

[Generic Calendar/Clock - Countdown to Dec 16, 2013 5:00 PM in New York](<a href=“Countdown Timer – Countdown to Dec 16, 2013 5:00 pm in New York”>Countdown Timer – Countdown to Dec 16, 2013 5:00 pm in New York)

Love it hahaha

How hard is getting in CoE for CS,?

@cicit123 PAM in Hum Ec! me as well :)

do you think a mediocre GPA with an ACT within their range gives me any shot at Human Ecology ED?

@miggie1808

Haha nice to meet you! I think we will be classmate!

@pomplamousse

Don’t worry about SAT II, it can’t tell much about an applicant, unlike SAT I. I did a lot about education and education policy for ECs.

I’m also out of state applicant too! We have an advantage since we are going to pay full tuition, especially the economy is bad now.

@cicit123 but they don’t know if you applied for financial aid or not, so they probably can’t judge by that too much. But I mean, I’m OOS too so I do also hope it gives us a bump!

@pomplamousse I didn’t submit my sat subject test scores but i don’t think it matters that much. HumEc decided this year to not require them, which shows that they’re not as highly valued anymore. Plus, cornell in general doesnt value standardized testing as much as other schools do to begin with.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get into CALS majoring in Biological Science? Applying as an in-state resident.

@Bubbles888

That’s true, but they also don’t know if in state applicants are applying for financial aid. So from statistic perspective, they will treat us the same.

However they know for sure that OOS are going to pay more, and usually OOS are wealthier than in state applicant who is applying for chartered school at Cornell, so I would say we definitely have an advantage.

@kaytea11

What is the overall admit rate for CALS? I think applying early will give you a boost!

@citcit123

Of course I applied ED! I wouldn’t be on this thread if I didn’t haha. I have no clue what the overall admit rate for CALS is. I can’t find any statistics for individual schools.
