Though if you are a girl the admission rate is higher than 10% for CoE

@ewintu CS on CoE here… I think i have one of tbe most popular majors.

@Sophia <10% even in ED?

@jerrynomenon probably not. in ED, you have a bit more chance.

no worries guiseee, worrying won’t help or do anything. haha Hakuna matata.

From what I’ve gathered, the Engineering acceptance rate is HIGHER than the overall university acceptance rate. It’s almost a percentage in the late 20s.
And higher for ED.
And even higher for females.

CoE ECE intended major!

[Class Profile 2017-College of Engineering](http://www.engineering.cornell.edu/admissions/undergraduate/why_cornell/class_profiles.cfm)

Actually, it’s lower.

Well, perhaps it’s just a coincident but I can’t help being nervous reading that someone is getting emails from ILR while she’s not even applying there. I am, but I never got one of those.
Winter break, COME!

COE acceptance rate is ~8% from the above link

The acceptance rate is higher. The link shows the no. of people who decided to enroll. The offer was made to quite a few more people.

Im pretty sure its somewhere in the twenties. That shows enrolled/applied. The yield I think must be around 40-60%

Check this out.

Two years ago admit rate for COE is 21%

@ola don’t be nervous! I’m sure it doesn’t mean anything. I get emails from all of the schools and I think some of the graduate programs just talking about accomplishments they’ve made recently, so I think I must have signed up for their mailing list sometime and forgot d:

Which link?

From [this](http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000003.pdf):

15.8% acceptance rate for males at CoE.
35.3% for females at CoE
Overall at CoE: 20.5% (mostly because of high acceptance rate of females)

^ This is for RD, so I think perhaps for ED it should be around 18-22% for males. But that’s just a guess.

Thanks @yalesoon! I’m just overreacting to smallest things (let’s be honest, like most of us here)
Isn’t there a similar table for the most recent acceptance rates one Cornell’s website? I don’t quite see why we’re anazyling one from 2011.

Here, I found it - all the charts can be found here: [Quick Facts About Cornell University](Quick Facts About Cornell University - Institutional Research & Planning)

@Truuse

I agree with your analysis.

35.3% for female?! That’s very surprising for me. 35.3% is the highest admit rate to an IVY school, even higher than Human Ecology’s 30.8%.

As a male, I feel I’m discriminated in this admission process.

@singinsweeti omg that is just the information I wanted to know! I went to my counselor a couple of times asking whether cornell asked for my first quarter grades, but I haven’t gone in the past week. I’m pretty sure she would tell me if she got asked, since I seemed concerned about it, so I’m guessing she didn’t get asked. From what I hear, cornell asks for your first quarter grades if they’re on the fence about you. Did anyone else get asked for their first quarter grades?

My school automatically summited our first trimester grade three days ago;)
