So, if we get rejected from Cornell, anyone think its worth applying to any of the other ivies?

I think you should do so if you’re passionate about any of the specific schools rather than just “Ivies”. I’m not applying to any other one, only Cornell.
By the way, do other schools see if we applied ED anywhere? And do they see there exactly?

@Vandire, Europe is a pretty big place, so I’d rather answer a more specific question.

you can only apply ED to one college because it is binding if you are accepted

^I dont think that was the question. Shes asking if the RD schools can see where you applied ED. and im pretty sure they cant.

Nope.

I’m applying to a few other ivies:

Brown - not bad for CS, and I love how they have no core curriculum

Dartmouth ONLY because their supplement is very short and I can basically copy-paste my essay from another application - but i’m not likely to enroll if I get in since I don’t really like the college… I’m just applying for the heck of it.

Princeton - doubt i’ll get in, but it’s okay for CS. Again, don’t really want to go here so I’d probably end up going somewhere else even if I do get in (Berkeley or UMich if I get into either of those)

Honestly… nothing compares to Cornell though and I’d be sad going anywhere else even though I know that’s probably what’s going to happen…

correct me if im wrong but CAS has the lowest acceptance rate right?

Statistically, CALS (Ag and Life Sciences) has the lowest acceptance rate at 14.8%. Engineering is 15.1%, CAS is 15.2%.

Engineering is definitely the hardest to get into though, it is a very self-selective applicant pool and their SAT 25-75 is statistically higher than the rest of the university.

Thanks for the answer to my question before! Yup, I meant whether your RD schools see that you EDed to another school. I thought they did because Cornell’s ED agreement said something about how they could “share this information with other institutions”. But “NO” is exactly what I wanted to hear!

Absolutely not will schools know where else you applied unless you tell them.

In other news, anyone else have a snow day today? Haha :)

In less than a week, two thirds of us will be holding rejection letters. The very knowledge of this fact sends shivers down my spine.
I just want to know the result and move on with my life already!

If I get in I’m going to be very happy for the rest of my life.
If I don’t, I’ll be cranky for about two weeks. And then very happy for the rest of my life, starting New year’s!
(Geez, that sounds OCD-ish)

As insanely stressful as this anticipation is, don’t forget to enjoy the holiday season while it lasts! :)

I dont see how anyone will enjoy the holiday season knowing they got rejected.

Decision couldve been earlier I havent started any other supplements. Will probably do so when I get rejected. Just 6 more days!!

@yalesoon will definitely try. And you too.
@muhammad hang in there buddy.

^thisisit29 and yalesoon, really well explained. I’m trying hard to get this attitude as well, but reduce the 2 weeks to none!

epicdude17, is snow day a day off from school? if yes then it’s funny, winter in the US hardly ever gets that tough and yet there’s so much panic I have never had a day off because of snow storms!

@GuavaRhee Fine art (‘ㅂ’; ) Hope you’ll get admitted yeah btw I’m also a Korean ㅎㅇ
@phonem I’m also applying for BArch How’s your portfolio and the interview?

Yeah, we aren’t really that prepared for snow I guess. And they just do it so everyone is safe and there aren’t any accidents getting to the school.

I’m not complaining though haha, free day for me to do whatever I want!

has cornell released the number of applicants they received for early decision?

ED lists are circulated by some schools after ED notification (or after you accept the ED financial aid offer) to maintain the integrity of the process.

^How many colleges do these lists circulate to ?
