I applied ED to Cornell Engineering 2018. Is it true that they favor females or is that just a rumor?

Where do I submit financial documents? Should I send it to through email or the webpage for submitting documents?

yale is tuesday the 17th…not that it really matters to any of us

You should have submitted financial documents already. You submit the CSS and tax returns online. Check here.

@sylvanotes The prevailing idea is that female engineering applicants generally have better credentials. It’s a male dominated field, so females going into it maybe feel the need to prove themselves? I’m not going to try to make sense of the psychology of it, but a female engineering applicant on average probably has better scores/grades than a male.

I’m freaking out…our pin has nothing to do with acceptance…right?

@sylvanotes
I did too! When I visited Cornell I was talking to an admissions officer and she said that there is an advantage for being female. She said that last year was the first year that 50% of the people they accepted were female, but they only had about 40% female enrollment… She said that this year their goal is 50% female enrollment, and thus they’re going to accept a lot of ED females in Engineering, to as to assure those female’s enrollment.

my best friend just got deferred from brown :(

You guys are really fast!

OMg, my best friend got deferred from Brown and two people that I wouldn’t expect got accepted by Columbia! Sad side is that one of them really doesn’t deserve it. He is arrogant, downgrades everyone and he has like no social activities at all. OMG this is so random and awkward!
[BTW, I feel like Brown deferred almost everybody and not rejected anyone]
