<p>My S was rejected from CAS. Sad but not surprised. Congrats to those accepted, hugs to everyone who kept this thread friendly. Maybe I’ll see some of you elsewhere on CC :-/</p>
<p>Aww well at least u guys tried I didn’t even go ED on anything since my parents were pretty sure I won’t make it. Also is it true if you don’t make it ED you can’t do regular decision?</p>

<p>Daughter got Accepted - College of Engineering.
Was actually her second choice behind Arts and Sciences, although her fit is probably for Engineering and she says her Essay for CoE was much better than the CAS.</p>
<p>Congrats to everyone accepted. Everyone deferred hang in there, it may still happen and you will end up where you belong.
For those who were rejected, keep your heads up, be proud of yourself - you have worked too hard to get down on yourself there are plenty of great schools and you will end up in one.</p>

<p>There is a lot of luck involved, after someone meets the baseline criteria (1900 SAT and 3.5 gpa for CAS).</p>
<p>Cornell wants students from 50 states, a big plus if you are from Wyoming, NOT New York.</p>
<p>Or, you indicated an interest in history and few others did. Or you are an All State tuba player and all of Cornell’s tuba players are graduating.</p>
<p>Anyone who applies to Cornell will be a strong candidate at dozens of great colleges.</p>
