A discussion thread for applicants to Cornell University

@roxy481
Thanks for creating this thread as most other univs here on CC have RD discussion threads already. And because the Cornell thread is one of the most popular thread among those universities, it only seems right to have a thread for all of us RD applicants.

First of all, lets just start a running list of people FROM CC that are on this thread as they join and what college they applied to:

Running List:
matrixsurgeon - College of Human Ecology

I applied to CALS (AEM) and have an interview with an alum this Saturday!

I LOOOOVE CORNELL! I applied to AAP for architecture!

CALS - Plant Science!!! Was deciding between CAS and CALS and decided to go with CALS at the last moment. Anyone know whether this major is particularly competitive?

When do decisions come out?

All decisions (except for ILR and Hotel which start out late Feb I believe) come out on March 27th at 5pm ET. All the ivy leagues are required by the Ivy League agreement to have one common decision date and that decision date this year is on Thursday, March 27th.

Thanks!

Exactly 2 months until decisions come out!!! I don’t want to get my hopes up because the ivy league is so selective, but I still can’t help that little thought that I could be accepted to just one of them.

I would love to attend Cornell! Applied to Human Ecology

@triassiic
I think we all here hope the same as you do. Especially the many of us that applied to several to many of the Ivy League schools.

I applied (eng)!

CS in the College of Engineering.

Hey guys! I applied to CAS; want to major in Economics. I am guessing it is a very popular major. Do you think that will make the admissions more selective? Do they consider the choice of major during selection?

Also, I am an international student fro India and I was wondering if Cornell offers alumni or Skype interviews in my country. Any ideas?

And here’s everything combined…
