lolol…pls disregard the first comment on the matter…i just tried n it worked…i guess it happened mistakenly…oh welll…gud luck to vryone

@cuite that happened to me too but now i can log in

werd…
does anyone else have anything different for the application status besides:

“Cornell is currently receiving a very large volume of application materials.” ?

kev…i got that same message when i was able to log in…and also…ur materials have been fowarded…

sigh…
i think this waiting game has bested me
looks like the only solution is to…drown myself in some work! =D
i think you guys should follow suit x]

Who is kind enough to tell me the earliest time that you might get the letter from transfer admission office for the spring transfer 2011?

Also, I applied last fall, how will that affect their decision given that I did pretty well (got dean’s list) in my liberal arts college (among the top 10)?

whoa bud
ur a new one too?
which school did you apply to

@edithzzle

earliest time: might be even tomorrow (low probability). decisions are technically suppose to be rolling starting this monday, but i don’t think anyone got one yet. most likely we’ll get them in a week or two.

also concerning your application last fall - it depends. if you were accepted and didn’t attend for some reason then you’ll most likely get in this semester if you maintained your gpa.
if you were rejected b/c of missing pre-reqs and you completed them now, then your likelihood of acceptance is higher.
if you had all pre-reqs done and your gpa is not much different, then your chances don’t look too good - all it will show is you are interested in attending cornell.
usually colleges recommend 1 full year before reapplying when rejected b/c not much can change within 1 semester.

i applied CAS as a spring transfer

Last year i applied to Hotel Admin as a freshman, and I didnt get in. After over a year’s studying in liberal arts, I feel that I still want to go to a university

@Edithzzle
i’m applying as a transfer to cornell’s hotel administration for spring term. If you dont mind me asking… What were your stats (experience, gpa, sat, ib, ap, etc) like when you applied to the hotel school? And why are you applying to CAS this year? :P

i just wanna compare myself to you… to see what my chances are like haha. Dont worry if you dont feel like posting your stats - I totally understand if you rather keep your info private :P

@edithzzle

Ok im gonna assume u applied two falls ago and u are in ur third semester of college. (Last fall would mean this is ur first semester. If u have a 3.7 and above i would say u have a really good shot since ur from a top 10 lac providing u had good essays and recs.

Cas does have a really low transfer rate but im sure u can transfer to other top 20 universities

When i applied hotel admin, I was a highschool student (btw, my case is special cuz i am international, my gpa was 3.8, sat 2200 had ap micro macro phy cal bc and eng literature)

This time i applied to cas for sophomore year.
My gpa in college is 4, econ major have taken labor, experimental, euro union, managerial econ, and math: multivariable, linear algebra, math structures, probability

Really, how low is it? I really have to transfer because my school does not offer some econ classes that will enable me to legally intern in US (if you know the CPT requirement). Also, the research base is really small, I cannot conduct my long-planned research easily in my school. Also, our semester is really unique, and we don’t have chances to have classes during winter or summer break, another sad limitation, even though I can always get my professors’ personal help in my school

@edithzzle
wow, your records seem pretty good… any thoughts on why you didnt get in? :confused:
im getting worried now.

D:

Last year was just weird for international students (2009), there was a significant increase in international pool, and i guess among the international students i am not the most excellent? I mean I dont even apply for financial aid?! Cornell has always been my top choice so even though i got in the top LAC, i still want to try cornell again , it is kinda “american dream” haha

I see… I’m an international student as well haha :stuck_out_tongue: i just hope that the competition isnt too bad this year… Less competition in spring than fall right?
