Official Cornell Transfer 2011

ahh, you’ll probably get it sometimes next week then.

I hope I do.

I submitted on 8/29 but Cornell didn’t download it until first week of September. I received my ID last week…

Did any of you send additional stuff w. your application (videos, pictures, resume, ect)?

hey, i was accepted last spring, so i’ll try to pop in every once in a while and help out

as for CAS - last spring they only accept 1 person and they only accepted 20-something for this fall, so the quoted 30 should be combined fall and spring

When I spoke to the admissions office a last week I was told that CAS received around 80 applications for the Spring and accepted around 30 people usually and matriculated about 10.

I don’t think CAS is so selective as to only accept one person out of an applicant pool of 80-100, especially on an off application time like Spring semester where they receive significantly fewer applicants than they do for the Fall.

Here’s a helpful article:
[Transfer Student Bias | The Cornell Daily Sun](http://cornellsun.com/node/26216)

I also haven’t received my I.D. yet and I would really, really like to.

did anyone with a ID know whether the admission office recieved all your application materials cause their missing my college official report even tho i sent it a week ago?

One person> This sounds like bad news. I am going to call tomorrow morning and ask.

i’m talking about externals; internals are far more common

Can anyone chance me? Sorry I really have no clue how I stand for Cornel :/

Hi Ironic,

You are a big help, thanks for your advice and support.
Do you know if Cornell is kind to non-traditional students? Or will you have to be competitive as a freshmen to be accepted into CAS?

I never thought about the external/internal transfers. Anyway, I decided not to call Cornell. I don’t want to worry too much.

I applied for the College of Arts and Sciences for the Spring of 2011. I wish everyone who applied the best! I am also having issues with the Application Status in regards to many of my documents, so do not fret!

zacharysmith,

When did you turn in your application materials? What else are you still missing?

WHOA! Just saw where the rumor is that Cornell CAS only accepts 1 out of 80-100. This has to be wrong. I was assuming it would be more along the lines of the 30/80 someone was mentioning earlier. I applied for the chemistry program btw!

I mailed both my high school and college transcripts last Monday. Everything else has been accepted! I am from WV, so they should have arrived on Thursday of last week.

you guys can check the spring and fall threads if you don’t believe me lol but i know the spring arts transfer personally and she was the only external in her orientation group haha. but of course, if you’re awesome and they love you, numbers won’t matter and they will take you no matter what

cornell does tend to like non-trads, bullmarket. use your experience to your advantage

I don’t get it…I sent ALL my materials early September, but it’s still showing “not received”

You definitely are going to want to check that out! I sent my other materials roughly two weeks ago and they claimed to have successfully received those documents.

Seems like everyone is applying to CAS!= )…Is this a good thing or a bad thing?..lol
