congratz!!!eyethink… we all waiting… Was the letter big…

Congrats eyethink!!! Ughh we’re all still waiting. I’m SO anxious!!! Too bad there isn’t a set date when we all find out like regular first-year applicants… we just have to wait everyday starting mid-April… sigh Congrats again!

Wow i wish I got in too

@eyethink

congratz!!! i cant believe that Cornell already has started to notify admission decisions!!! I checked your previous thread and you said your application was forwarded to the committee on 3/21. since my application was forwarded on 3/18, i hope i can get hear from Cornell pretty soon though i applied to CALS. oh, would you mind posting your stats up here? just wondering thank you so much

@john1234567: I didn’t get a letter. That’s coming in a week or so. I got a call from the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Ian Schachner himself.

@bonnechance: Whatcha wanna know? I don’t like to just post my stats because it makes me feel dirty for some reason lol. So if you want to know something specific, just ask and I’ll post it. Does CALS require an interview?

Thanks again guys. Took two years of planning and sacrificing for this moment. Even if I hadn’t gotten in it would have been worth it. I grew so much from this pursuit. But because I got in, well it is even sweeter.

@eyethink

can i have your overall gpa and major gpa (cornell requirements)? and no interview for CALS :)

@bonnechance, 4.0 GPA and I finished all but one of the requirements by the time I applied. The one I’m missing I am currently taking. I did send them a Mid-Term Report showing them that I have been maintaing my 4.0 since applying. Hope that helps. :-)

@eyethink

wow thats very impressive! thanks for your info and congratulations again on your admission!! :-)

Thanks. Do let us know when you hear your good news.

@eyethink

Definitely i will if i get in!!!

does this mean ilr decisions have already started coming out? its so early but thats awesome!!

Still biting my nails…a girl at my school got her acceptance to CAS on Monday. I applied to CAS on the same day as her, so hopefully I’ll get my decision soon…I think the difference is that I didn’t have one of my midterm grades until yesterday (my college got waaaay behind with all the snow days) so I only just faxed them all in. Blegh.

@eyethink major congrats I interviewed at ILR’s transfer day in November '10, Mr. Schachner was fantastic! I went with CAS in the end, though, because ILR didn’t have enough PoliSci concentration for my taste. Kind of regretting not applying there now. You’ll love it (but I’m sure you know that already!).

Wow accepted aready!! congrats!!

For those who are curious what happend after I got the letter from Cornell saying that they will withdraw my application if I dont submit my transcript…
I got another email today saying that they mixed up my high school transcripts ( sent via docufide) because apparently, my high school had a wrong birth date…
But they found it today and finally sent for review…

I was almost about to give up… cuz I’ve sent my transcripts like… three times ( as well as recommendation letters…) I’m just glad this process is over- no matter what the final decision would be.

My only concern is that my online status still says I’m missing transcripts and rec.letters. I should probably email them again…? I’ve certainly lost some weight over this.

^There’s a lag between someone on the phone telling you they’ve received it and updating on the self-service system. Wait a three days or so and then contact them if it still hasn’t been updated.

@mmepr18:

I wish I could have gone to the transfer day. It was just too expensive. I went with ILR because I’m really interested in labor economics (Robert Reich is one of my heros) and collective bargaining. Did you sit in on any classes? I definitely want to take a collective bargain class on sports. That’s on my ILR bucket list if I go.

Congrats eyethink on your admission, it was well deserved :)

I applied for Cornell School of Hotel Management
Current College: University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
Current GPA: 3.68
Activities: I am very active in both high school and college
related working experience: job shadowing at Hilton Garden Inn for 3 months, and Working in a fine dining restaurant as server and kitchen staff for another 3 months.
Currently a Freshman, apply to transfer in Fall 2011
BTW. I was rejected when I applied in high school
High School GPA: 3.3 (my high school was hard on GPA)
SAT: 1900

Wondering what is my chance? and…anyone know when will we know the result?
I heard hotel management accepts only 30ish people transfer in each year, very nervous about it.

Hey Everyone,

I just got a call from Ian yesterday, but was at school, so I missed it. I did call
back and was told that I was admitted. Very happy, to say the least
Good Luck to everyone

^Congrats Matt. Is Cornell ILR your first choice?

When I got the call yesterday, my phone showed it as a “Blocked” number. Assuming it was my girlfriend because she’s the only other person I know that has a “Blocked” number, I answered, by saying, “Hiii Hun!”

Mr Schachner replied, “Um … this is Ian Schachner from Cornell.” Suffice it to say, a very cold sweat came over my body.

Ooooo! Two are accepted already. Congrats to you both!

I guess other ILR applicants will start staring at their phones… lol
