ACCEPTED TO ILR!

To neethus1:

I might be crazy, but I remember when chance threads were everywhere it was normal to put M + R / W. Just because M/R are regarded as more important than W.

And thanks!

Accepted!!!

Deferred. I don’t think I can post my stats.
Cornell has completed a careful review of our early decision applications, and the selection committee has decided to postpone a final decision on your application until the regular review process in the spring. We know that this is disappointing news, but please rest assured that your application will be read again thoughtfully and thoroughly during the regular decision period.

We wish you the best as you complete your senior year.

Sincerely,

General Comments:

I just want to take a minute to tell the people next year and in the future not to be intimidated by the acceptances and rejections on this board. I was scared to death, because I thought my SAT’s were mediocre, my marks lower-than-average. With that, I was not terrible math-physics-oriented. I never won any competitions or anything like that.

It is possible for anyone, within reason, to get in. Don’t hesitate to apply, and furthermore, don’t let ANYONE tell you, that you can’t do it.

Rejected

GPA: 3.7UW 4.16W
SAT: 2240 800CR 720M 720W
Good ECs and essays and recs

I think its because of my downward trend in grades (1 B freshman year, 2 Bs soph, 3 Bs junior)

****!

ACCEPTED

10char

well said hellogoodbye

cornellians please post which school you’ll be attending

stats for curious about a rejectee:
gpa sucked (yes, even for CC and Cornell)
SAT of 700 R, 690 M, 750 W
ACT of 31
probably amazing recs (my bio teacher has described me once as “on a completely different level than peers” and “incredibly gifted” and “phenomenal” at biology)
counselor rec that explained extenuating circumstances during 9th/10th grade
legacy
and i sent in my grades from first marking period which includes an A+ in AP bio
it’s all cool though.

Does anybody else think we need a far more organized acceptance/rejection thread? With only acceptance/rejection/deferrals to help next year’s class?

^^ Which school did you apply to?
