<p>General Comments:
As her mother filling this in, I did not put her sats, etc because you guys are way too hung up on them. They were obviously high enough for Cornell and that is all you need to know. One thing that D has that many of you are lacking is that you are so hung up on having the “correct” variety and number of EC’s. She picked a few that she loved, and being a varsity swimmer left little time for anything else. D also has had a paying job since she was 14, which I think shows drive and determination. She also comes from a small rural school, where only 2 people even applied for Ivy League admission in her class. We live in the shadow of Penn State, so most kids are happy to go there. I think that her willingness to get out of the area also helped her. She also has had the opportunity to travel, which helped her essays.</p>
<p>I’m sure that those that were rejected have great back up schools that most kids would be lucky to be accepted at.</p>
