For the Class of 2012

Anyone feeling both excited and nervous?

Not even thinking about it. I’ve got the supplements and essay to think about -_-

I am soooo excited! I’m going to have a countdown party on the 31 and then frantically get started!! =)

Are the individual school supplements available on August 1 too?

This is for those of you members of the class of 2012 that enjoy a little bit of poetry (or not). I hope that it inspires you to aspire to great things and to pursue your aspirations, believing in yourself, as well as knowing that great things still remain to be done, and the world needs you more than ever. Always remember, to dare to dream; whether they are in color or in black and white;whether they are big or small;easily attainable or almost impossible;look to your dreams, and make them become reality.

The moon is rising
Tell me how do you see
This world it goes
So tell me why my tracks are froze
As one day, one phase ends
Look up, this river wont bend
And this time is stolen and fake
And this time is next time
And even the time before
Outgrow the protection of your cradle
And you’re in a cage
Holding on as if the days aren’t turning
Still this world it goes
Search in your cradle
Grope in the dark
Until the moon lights a way
An escape from the exhuasted day
Paths to greater things
Shrouded by celestial tides
More to be found in this new light
The moon is in sight
Yet still this time and time
As the river falls to no bend
This exhausted day will not give in to its end.

Why do people complain about the stress of applications? I don’t understand.

Isn’t it just one essay for the commonap + a supplement essay for each individual school? So like ten 500 word essays, maybe?

@Saugus I think it’s doing the supplements last minute that makes it stressful. But I don’t know, we’ll see. There are probably other factors that will come up.

im kind of scared about filling out the applications, because I have no idea what to do. How do I format my essay? Do I type up my own essay or is there space somewhere on the application to type the common app essay? I have no idea what I’m doing!

I know there is an entire section devoted to academic awards, but what if I don’t really have any? I did not make NMSF or AP Scholar, and my school does not offers awards like the Harvard Book Prize or cum laude.

Despite this worry, I’m ready for the app to be out. Let’s get this started!

I am excited too, but I’ll be out of state until mid-August…so I’ll have to wait a little longer but that’s okay :)

I’m excited yet nervous, too! :)

@cod4pro: I can’t remember, but I think you have to type up your own essay then upload it to the common app in order for it to be submitted. If the school you are applying to requires a supplemental essay, then there will be a space for you to type it.
