4. why does the author step back??...(she knowz when she cant assist)

okay ppl plz verify the questions and cum up with more q's and ans's

For "or else" it's the lack of job security. it means if employees don't do what they're told, they will get fired.

"7.there wz a question bout how the author of para 2 wud respond to tht of para 1...i dun remember properly..."
something about lashing out into the world: the first would respond that it would waste even more of the workers personal/private time

"2.why the author uses "traitor""
because they adopted some values of another culture or whatever

"3. the one with the I, II, III choice..it wz either IIonly or II and III"
i put II only because it was about trusting them to work responsibly and independently. the other two were something like "consulting her before using a particular methodology" and the other one was even a little more far fetched.

Embraced---take up

Offered-----provide
I kept on changing my answers for number to from provide to propose. I really don't know what i selected. and for number 1. I don't think I got that, but I'm probably wrong.
I kept on changing my RC answers which isn't a very smart thing to do.

for the space craft I,II,III thing. I got only one thing that made sense.

For lashing out I chose the person would treat others as badly as he was treated. (Not sure about this one)

What was the answer to the "lashing out" word in context question ?

For (or so they say) I said something about the author holding a different belief...I don't know though...

For embraced I got greet. Greet made more sense to me because the author said she turned her back on one guy and ____ another guy. Greet is the antonym of like turning your back.
For the aircraft one I chose II only.
For offered I put provide.

dmitriyr,

I was actually stuck on the "greet" question, and I had a really easy way of solving it...

How can you greet an idea or concept? If you do not mean "greet" literally, then why can we not use "hug," then? It would appear that both of those choices are not right simply because of the actions they entail. If we accept them literally, then they are wrong, and if we accept it "figuratively," then both answers would be correct.

To "Take up on," in my opinion, is the right answer.

Oh, and why look at antonyms when we can just look at the definition?

Greet: Express greetings upon meeting someone.

The lashing out one was something related to going out into business...I just had the word when I began typing and now I've lost it.

Dmitryr, but in the context, greet made no sense (way to colloquial for the sat at least)...took up (or whatever) made more sense because it implied she "began" researching him...instead of simply "greeting" him.

My REAL question is on that question with the "real" thing...I got the answer down to two...but thats all I remember. Does anyone have the answer out their?

Well you guys might be right with greet. But you can greet something abstract but I might be wrong. Oh well. "I greeted his idea with enthusiasm."

To salute or welcome in a friendly and respectful way with speech or writing, as upon meeting or in opening a letter.
** 2. To receive with a specified reaction: greet a joke with laughter.**

To be perceived by: A din greeted our ears.
(dictionary definitions)

if i remember correctly, it might have been something like....to imply that he does not agree...or no wait, it was "that he was an exception to the belief" or something. It was oddly phrased :/ hope i got it right....

dmitriyr,

On any other occasion, I would be inclined to agree with you.

However, it seems as if "greet" only makes sense upon our putting our own thoughts into it, which is what we cannot do when interpreting the passage. In order to justify the use of "greet," it seems as if we have to provide our own personal justification, whereas "taking up" was well-supported by the passage

I vacillated between the two, but that is only because I promised not to insert any personal thoughts into the question process.

i agree wid ontolome for the traitor answer... i think the choice wz..he felt tht he wz neglecting his own traditions or something...for the american dream one wat wz the correct answer to the who is "them" ..in para 2...doez n e body remember??

Lol I hate that we got to wait 2 weeks. I should probably ust not go on the SAT and ACT Tests & Test Preparation forums cause then you're anxious to know what you've got. -.-

I was just thinking the same thing.

analogies:
palpable:: perceived
traumatic:shocked?

"for the american dream one wat wz the correct answer to the who is "them" ..in para 2...doez n e body remember??"

I put the lazy workers for "them". Anybody else get that answer.

"analogies:
palpable:: perceived
traumatic:shocked?"

That's what I put. Something that is palpable is perceived. So I reasoned that something that's traumatic is shocking or leads ppl to be shocked. The relationship still doesn't fit perfectly, but none of the other answer choices looked better...

Khalid,

It has aleady been confirmed that "them" was the entrepeneurs.

Also...

Palpable: Something easily perceived.
Fragile: Something easily broken.

Fragile is the answer.

What was the exact question for that one?

Was that the one talking about making other ppl rich?

If it is, then I put down entrepeneurs.

the "others" one went something like this..." some ppl dont work tht hard and just give up on life whlie others manipulate them ".. something like tht
Doez n e body remember n e thing else bout the native american question/answers.??
