one of the answers for the last passage was “not all pervasive beliefs are true,” not “it was not scientifically scrutinized adequately”

Are you 100% sure about that?

yeah. the one with incremental and collaborative

i meant to put a question mark… no… I’m not 100% sure. was your answer different?

Hmmm, I thought it was the answer with scrutinising, because the passage didn’t really offer other examples or draw other conclusions to allow for such a generalisation.

I think I put cursory. I really hope didn’t change my answer. I put the volcano activity for that question.

i first put that too, but i change it because of the word “scientific.” the 2nd author says the reason it is so accepted is because everyone just conforms to the pervasive culture and beliefs…

For the question where you put volcanic activity, I put something moraines (don’t remember it all), because the question was about naturalists and people noting gradual changes in topography via patterns ( not sure if that’s exactly it either xD), so that made sense at the time? if people remember more details from the passage, I can better justify my answer…

Do you guys remember any sentence completion questions? Did you guys had brisk, spate, hostility, impugn-recant…etc as your answers?

Was one of the answers euphemism. I don’t remember. The question. Also, one of the answers was personification. I don’t remember the question, but I’m very sure that its right. Also, another answer was simile. The comparison between something that had “like” in the sentence.

and was the purpose of the bach passage describing a challenge he faced??

Yep, those are some I had.

directed at the post about the various sentence completions

i remember crossing euphemism off… i don’t think that was the answer

@neuroengineer I had all of those as answers. I don’t remember recant, though.

Well, prim means super correct and proper, and besides, that movie is based on a super graphic book, so I really don’t think it’s that. Brisk means active or quick, and I thought that fit best. (My definitions are not from the dictionary, so they aren’t exact, but I’m positive I got the correct meanings across)

For the euphemism question, the answer was parallel structure, because all the verbs were the same form, for emphasis.

I can’t remember the question but I know that I chose brisk for one of the answers

Overachiever, are you sure that it was parallel structure? I don’t remember reading it as such?

i put parallel structure too…
