Ok, that's it, you '12s are definitely the worst class ever.

you eat at chili's?

Well, yes, as opposed to China Wok Foo Pan.

johnleemk... I would agree that we would be the worst class ever if you based us off of just one or two people. If you're an '11 though, you can't talk. I was at homecoming... and I was embarrassed for you and your pre-approved class of 2011 field walk. Notice the obvious omission of the word 'rush'.

^ lol

wait a sec. You said you'd upload pics! You never did :p OR you didnt take any? :D

On a serious note, yeah you can say 'shackleton - the worst git who might be a part of '12 ' and not '12 is the worst class

/facepalm...

Informal consensus amongst all '11s who have seen your posts on CC is that you guys are the worst class ever - not least for messing up your facts (we rushed the field properly between the 3rd and 4th quarter - those half-time tools were the perfect distraction, since nobody was expecting the real thing).

No way John. As an 09, we did all right rushing the field. I have to say though, the 10s did outstanding. One of them even did a jig while being chased by s&s. The whole spectacle was breathtaking and made me proud.

The 11s were just plain lame. You guys kinda ran about a little but at completely the wrong time. It was just terrible.

Anyway, 12s, you guys seriously need to chill out. The only people who get to be cranky right now are current dartmouth students who are in the middle of finals but procrastinating on cc.

good luck to you all and go eat some "china wok foo pan" or whatever cuz the orient restaurant gets boring after awhile.

okay time to study more stats. yay chi square statistics.

Informal consensus among the '10s is that the '09s did not rush the field.

hi johnleemk, is the admission office being bombarded with calls from ed students and parents. how are your finals going? .....i hope you are a zoolander fan. i've always wanted to meet someone from malaysia, just so i could say........
"kill the prime minister of malysia!"

Sheesh, frickin' Zoolander. I don't know what the deal is with that movie. I think the office just sent you guys an email with a PIN so you can check your status, since I just took a call about that.

I don't think admissions decisions are out yet. Would be interesting if xian1007 got a likely letter.

the post I made above is a mistake, sorry!

I Love You Guys!!

My D is an anxious EDer (not listed), trying not to obsess....we are aware of one girl who was offered a spot at D via athletic recruitment in the week prior to Tgiving....
Wondering what % of athletes will occupy ED spots?

yeah someone from my school was already recruited and i am pretty sure that hurts my chances. I am just wondering how much competition within your own school matters....

Technically, at least according to admissions officers, you aren't competing with your school, but with everyone applying. In other words, they evaluate you in comparison to everyone applying, not just your school. That said, if 10 kids get in from your school, they know that it might be a bit much to accept another person.

Recruited athletes tend to comprise somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-33%. last year at D it was 31% of the admitted group in ED, according to Michele Hernandez on her website. In other words, 120 athletes were admitted, but that is not to say that a solid number weren't turned down.

xian1007.......are you ed?

Here is some detailed information on Early Decision last year which might answer some questions

TheDartmouth.com | Early decision numbers hold steady for ‘11 class

This year ED was up 8.7%. My guess is that the overall percentage of the class filled up will be about a third.
