Official Dartmouth 2015 ED Decisions

I recieved the FA information, for me it was in the undergraduate admissions menu, along with the acceptance letter

Sybbie, all South Americans, Mexicans, PRs, pretty much all, not sure about if you are from Europe/Spain but still believe it counts. My Ds’ SAT are in the 99+ percentile for Latin American for W, the 99 percentile for Math, and the 98 percentile for CR…sure 10 points higher but she scored a 700 on the Lit which is considered one of the hardest tests and her first language was spanish til she was 3,if anyone would get a minor break for CR it would be a URM latino no? I dunno. GPA is not calculated UW in her school but it was likely about 3.7-3.8 UW. Her Ai is at least a 5 and using weighted GPA unranked a 7…very weird.

Decision: ACCEPTED

Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 2150 (690W, 700M, 770R)
ACT: N/A
SAT II: 760 Literature, 740 Biology E

Volunteer/Community service: Lots and Lots

Country (if international applicant): US
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Female
Income Bracket: I’m from the suburbs…enough said
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): --none, unless you count geographic location

Reflection: SOME HELPFUL HINTS FOR APPLICANTS:

Fill in the additional information section. I am not in fostercare nor are my parents disabled, but definitely DON’T leave that section blank.

Also, know that stats aren’t everything. I feel embarrassed (especially as I’m asian–the supposed “nerdy” race) getting in when so many qualified ccers didn’t. But BABY I’M GOING TO DARTMOUTH!

Accepted!!

Darn, I forgot my pithy exit. Here it is: A couple of years ago, I genuinely thought Dartmouth was pronounced as Dart mouth, and jeered about it constantly. My mom said if I can’t pronounce the school, there’s no way I’m getting in. Guess it’s true haha.

Oh, here’s my rejection stats if anyone cares (no…)
SAT: 1370/2050
ACT: 31
GPA: W/UW 4.46/3.77
ECs: tutoring, GS, sailing, sci fair, mock trial
Cornell Summer College: 3.267 GPA, 2 sophmore classes
Why I didn’t get in: academics nor ECs make me stand out. not even a good essay could compensate for that.

Enjoy Hanover all!:D

oh SAT 2s where 770 in Chem, Bio M, and US Hist. 640 in Math 2

Okay, I’m done now. Let the acceptees shine!
