Official Dartmouth 2015 ED Decisions

What is your rank in your HS (ir they provide it precisely or at least percentile in senior class). You did not mention you SAT Subject test scores or ECs in general. 2350 and 3,98 is a good launching pad, if the rest lines up you should have a good shot.

Tangled Up (in Blue-top 10 Dylan song) you deserve another welcome to the Dartmouth ED board, Technically you are in the ED pool but in fact your “likely letter” means you are already on the stack of “Accepted” files, so if you were to think of this as a queue, your not in line, you are already IN! We envy you but are happy for you as well.

CONGRATuLATIONS! Squash is a great sport to get recruited for–the stealth recruit sort of. I used to be really good at it as a kid but parents always think oh teach kids piano baseball like that will make them a stand out–now squash is a great sport to get recruited for-and you can play it all your life to stay in great shape as well.
I am gonna get accused of jinxing my D1 if in fact if I post here one more time but anyway, one more day (everyone besides tabgledup and othe recruited athletes), then a long afternoon, then cheers, tears (hopefully no jeers) I guess–all followed by beers. I am going to stock the Corona with lime ones as if its a defer or reject then I have to go with a dark bitter Guinness-cannot fathom the negativity to buy those. As the only stupid parent here I will say there are no losers here Friday, you will all land someplace you can be proud of and I wish you every good fortune.

^
That’s sweet of you to say. Thank you!

TWENTY FOUR hours! :)

22 hours!!!

20 hours!!!

OMG GUYS. IF YOU HAVE NAVIANCE, CHECK THE SCHOOL STATS. Mine was updated, and it actually shows the RESULTS to dartmouth ED this year. If this thing is right, 3/8 of the people at my school got in!

Where do you get this information? My school (public) just got naviance this year as we are a new school…

How do you get to school results?

I think we both got ■■■■■■■ by Justbeinghonest

If justbeinghonest is not ■■■■■■■■, I just got denied. ■■■.

no, I kid you not. I would never ■■■■■, as I am in the same spot. You go to the dartmouth college profile and click school stats. My school already added this years applicants and as I had already memorized the stats from before, I was able to tell what happened this year. But be sure to check that they added this year AND also this years results. Not only is 8 added to the early decision section but the accepted/denied stats changed accordingly and added up to amount that applied even this year.

Also, I am SOOO sorry iPacman if this is in fact false reasoning. I would never intentionally deny someone of the hope of acceptance and have that be contrary. Let’s hope I’ wrong in this case…

^Quite an irony, with the username and all, huh?

Well, I was being completely honest with my interpretation of my schools stats, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not wrong. In this case, honesty is absolute, but truth is not.

I go to the Dartmouth college profile and there is no place for “school stats” https://connection.naviance.com/family-connection/colleges/college/view/?cid=3351

My counselor doesn’t update our naviance page (the students have to), so…

okay, so in mine, it is the third link just above the “how you compare” box. If your school is new, it might not have stats yet, and therefore won’t have this leak. It also assumes your school updates the stats before the students know of the admission examples.

In addition, to validate this for my school, the MIT profile only shows 1 documented person getting in, but the stats show 2 and include the class that applied this year. Again, this is just y school, but I thought I’d share so others might find out that some people got accepted from their school too.

My twin was just accepted to Cornell CAS; now I feel so much pressure to get into Dartmouth!

And I really don’t want to go to school tomorrow… I’ve a got a massive AP Latin Vergil test tomorrow that I haven’t started studying for…

Just sharing my pre-decision thoughts; feel free to do likewise. Most importantly, GOOD LUCK!!!

Office status pending! Of course my school doesn’t know their way around the system yet, like I said we all got naviance log-ins weeks ago.

Edit: This must just be a new school thing, as the other links you mentioned are nonexistent as well. This is our second graduating class and first senior class to use naviance, which is student-updated anyways.
