Official Dartmouth 2015 ED Decisions

Rejected. Bummer, but I won’t let this get me down. There are plenty of other schools that are academically just as good and want me more than D ever did. I knew I wasn’t going to like the Greek scene at Dartmouth, so I guess this just saves me the trouble and gives room for people who do want to take part.

As for those who got in, “live the dream for me”! Because I never will. Best of wishes and sincere congratulations to all those who were accepted. You deserve it so much more than me! :)

Strengths: Class rank, course load, good overall attributes (good essays, recs, etc.).
Weaknesses: Sort of standardized testing (I wouldn’t call a 2220 a weakness, but for a non-hooked applicant, it doesn’t really help).

Reflection: Even though I didn’t have many leadership positions at school, my work experience and leadership there made up for it. Also, I’m really committed to my activities, so I think that really helped. I did join other clubs briefly, but I didn’t list those on my application because they didn’t really add much except look like a filler.
Strengths: My commitment to my activities, and also I tried to show that I was well-rounded
Weaknesses: Lack of leadership positions at school if anything

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ELSE!!! Hope this might help someone out :)

Congratulations to all those accepted. Welcome to the family!

To those deferred, you might feel spiteful, but I hope if you’re accepted RD, you’ll still give Dartmouth a fair chance against the number of other great schools to which you will almost definitely be accepted.

And to those rejected, take heart. Search “Listen up, Yale Kids” and “Of All the Things I Learned at Princeton, These Are the Most Important” on this forum. These two posts are excellent, and should show you that April may still be a very happy month for you.

P.S. Where’s Pranam? Why isn’t he flipping his ***** yet? If he was deferred/rejected, I need to walk over to McNutt to b!tch out Maria Laskaris.

EDIT: CC is very intelligent. It now also censors “sh[!]t,” without the brackets.

^
hahaha oh pranam…

And I was rejected. But I’m excited to start applying to other colleges. It’s funny, but two of my colleges sent me an e-mail today about scheduling interviews. Is it an omen?! But to all those rejected/deferred, keep up hope. Only you define who you are and who you will become. :)

Good luck to everyone else!

Deferred
SAT 2300ish SAT2’a 3X800
AP’s 4 taken in junior year all 5’s

Time to do more apps… uugghhh

Congrats to the 2015’s… wish i could join you in Hanover!

I think she should retake to get the CR above a 700. What is the unweighted gpa (this is more important than the weighted because there is already an expectation that students are taking the most rigorous courses offered by their schools. What type of Hispanic as Puerto Ricans and Mexicans would be considered underrepresented.

rejected :/

2220 sats (680 cr 800 m 740 w)
subject tests: 800 physics 800 math
gpa: 3.68 (probably what killed ne)
4 ap taken: 5 physics b, 5 euro history, 4 us history, 4 eng. lang

oh well…best of luck to all accepted. hope you have fun :)

MY S accepted. I will post his stat…

BTW, anyone got the F/A information?

To all of those accepted, congrats and welcome to Hanover!

To all of those deferred, the wait goes on a little longer. Please don’t forget to update your files with your new transcripts, scores (if you retake) and any awards.

To those denied,it is not you that were rejected. You are still the same amazing person you were at 4:59 before the decisions came out. A year from now this will all be a distant & faint memory as you are loving your school and your college experience. Don’t worry, you will land on your feet and somewhere wonderful. All the best!
