Haha, “hope for the best and prepare for the worst” [same quote I used in the time of waiting for MIT decision]

Good luck to all!!! I hope I can stop getting rejection letters…

I really hope I get into one of my top schools. I was deferred ED from Cornell and waitlisted at Amherst and UChicago. I got into Wake Forest but it isnt one of my top choices. I can only hope for the best

Hi everyone!

This question has probably been asked a trillion times before- but: How do decisions come out? Do we log in to the application status site on April 1 at 5pm EST with the username/pwd Dartmouth e-mailed us when we first applied?

Or do they automatically send us e-mails with our decisions?

They dint get my peer eval… so i’m quite sure i’m rejected even though dartmouth is like my top choice (id choose it over yale)

@ocgirl dartmouth has a site that you log into with the password/username combo we already had (im pretty sure of this)
i do know that our decisions are not released by email. we log into [Check Your Application Status](<a href=“Home | Dartmouth Admissions”>http://www.dartmouth.edu/admissions/actions/status.html) and check our decision there

hope that helps :)

when you log into the website i posted above, you can click application status
this is what you will see:

re: Your Regular Decision Application

Dear augustagurrl,

Thank you for your application for Dartmouth’s Class of 2014.

We are now in the final stages of our decision making process, and will soon be notifying you of our decision on your candidacy. Please note: the notification process is paperless. Matriculation information will be sent to admitted students, but we will not be mailing paper decision letters. Your decision letter will be posted on this page after 5 pm Eastern Time on Thursday, April 1. It will be available until April 15.

We appreciate your interest in Dartmouth.

Sincerely,

The Dartmouth Admissions Staff

That really sucks. I’m really sorry. Hopefully that doesn’t happen.

Good luck you guys!!! Scary, eh?

I didn’t know you have to submit two SAT II test scores along with an ACT w/Writing. I always checked that site and was told they’ve received everything so I’m not really sure what to think. Ugh. I don’t want to end up at a state school.

Thanks augustagurrl!

Now the homestretch of the waiting period begins…
( :

ross25 that really sucks. You should call to see what happened. If they really wanted you wouldn’t they have contacted you about it?

Well, okay, this is what happened. I submitted the common application, then forgot about it and didn’t submit the supplement, test scores, or pay thinking it would have been considered void because the deadline passed like weeks ago. Then I got an e-mail from an alumni asking for an interview, so I called Dartmouth because I was confused and they told me to complete my application, which I did. But I overlooked the testing requirements because, well, that’s kind of the first I’ve seen a college asking for ACT AND 2 SAT II’s…

But, whatever. That’s life I guess. Read the fine print. Lesson learned. Going to be a hilarious story to tell someday–like maybe in 10 years? Haha. Life goes on…would be freakishly awesome if I got in though, although I’m pretty sure my chances went from 2% to like, .025%. Haha. I guess the University of Washington isn’t that bad–Seattle’s pretty awesome.

Mistakes are normal. However, they don’t know how to choose the right time to happen. Sorry for you, ross25.

cr…freak

ross, i guess his story is more hilarious than yours.

looking for opinions here. my D applied ED to Dartmouth, was deferred. Was accepted EA at notre dame, accepted RD into Wash U and Pomona, and waitlisted RD at Georgetown. Did all the right stuff after DM deferral (phone call, supplemental recommendations, etc.) I don’t want to bore you with a lot of stats-- just on what i’ve provided, does anyone want to hazard a prediction on her RD chances at Dartmouth? Total Brutal Truth is OK.

That she was accepted at Pomona is more of a good sign than being waitlisted at Gtown is a bad sign. So, overall positive! Although, Dartmouth has a lower acceptance rate than all the schools you refer to, so, who knows! But good luck. My D is hoping for good news from Dartmouth, too. As for me, the location and the drinking/frat scene makes it less than ideal.

thanks gekko

I hope Dartmouth doesn’t break my recent trend of being accepted to places.
So far I’ve been accepted to: UVa - Echols Scholar, W&M - William and Mary Scholar (Full-Tuition Scholarship), Pomona, and Claremont McKenna.

Fingers crossed!
