Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I showed a lot of interest, which is really important to Davidson. I visited campus twice, sat in on a class, had a non-evaluative interview, contacted my admissions rep, and applied for the Belk. I think that probably helped.

Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I was also accepted to Northeastern University (full tuition scholarship), UNC Chapel Hill, American University (20k merit) and University of Florida

General Comments: If I could afford Davidson, it would be my first choice. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there is a scholarship in the financial aid letter. But either way I feel very honored to be accepted! :)

Also, I don’t know if they were looking for someone with more academic extracurriculars, but I put a lot of hardwork in the theatre department, so I definitely wasn’t being lazy. But those math scores… I know those definitely hurt me rather than helped me.

Rejected.

I was kind of shocked I was rejected. At a glance: ACT 31, UW GPA 3.75, rank top 10.2% (my HS is well-known, above average, 2400 students- 750 in my class),

I’m from MN, URM(asian).

TONS of volunteer work. Mission trips to MX (w/leadership), Raised $18K from speaking at Rotary clubs to go to Africa and build a school, frequent help with food shelves/drives

Pretty decent ECs. top band out of 4 and president of it. “Varsity” Mathlete, Tennis, theatre, Church Camp counselor, NHS, SADD (All these were done all 4 years of HS)

Great Recs.

My {very tough] english teacher loved my common app essay, i thought it was pretty good, too. Short answer was okay.

Senior year AP spanish AP stats, AP lit, psych, band, econ (i know not too strong, but my HS is difficult!)

Not many great awards. Athletic letters, Academic letters, multiple music awards.
