Reflection[list][] Strengths: SAT II’s, essay[] Weaknesses: Didn’t visit, didn’t show interest [] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: They hate students from my school and commonly reject us even though we are usually stronger than the competition; they probably think we won’t come if accepted, but that is incorrect – at least in my case [] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted: Chicago, Rice, Vanderbilt, W&L, UVA, Wake Forest

My son was also waitlisted at Davidson. Maybe he’ll see you at Chicago!

Does anyone know last year’s stats on how many were on the WL and were selected? Thanks.

D was wait-listed. Still waiting to hear from other schools; but is not sure she wants to prolong the agony.

According to a chart published in the NY Times Education section a few weeks back; 422 students accepted a place in the wait-list last year and 14 were accepted. In the brochure attached to the wait-list letter which explains Davidson’s wait-list procedures they state that 15 were accepted from the wait-list last year; 58 in 2009 and none in 2008. Here is link for chart:

Congratulations to all who were acccepted and best of luck to all who were offered a spot in the wait-list.

My d was waitlisted and really surprised (and bummed out…I think she really wanted to go here).

Reflection
Strengths: Expressed interest in the school, visited twice, spent an overnight in the dorms. Commitment in extracurriculars
Weaknesses: SAT II’s, maybe essays and counselor reccs?

Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted UMCP, Pitt, BU. Waitlisted Vanderbilt. Rejected Duke

It seems like a lot of people were waitlisted. Are you going to stay on the list? Is there any way to increase my chance of getting off the waitlist?
