Alright, who is taking the exam next week? Care to share any words of wisdom?

I'm taking it...32-33 is my goal...I need to get my English and Math up from a 32/33, respectively to a 34-35 so I have leeway to score low 30's on Reading/Science since they are my weaknesses (STUPID TIME).

I wish you all luck and may your ACT score outweigh your SAT Score (or for my case at least :-P). I'm just going to review the practice test I took today, finish the Reading/Sci section of the test and review...and next week do 1 section per day and review all answers. GL

I might take it as a standby tester. I took a practice test today and got a 33, which is almost exactly equivalent to my SAT score. If I do take it, I'll be aiming for a 35.

My goal is 35 English, 36 Math, 36 Science, 31 Reading.

Btw, the ACT essay topics are SO much better than SAT topics.

theoneo...NICE SCIENCE...how did u finish the section in time? Do u go straight to the questions and refer back to the data?

Um... I didn't take it yet... That was my goal lol.

I got a 34 on the practice test though. I basically skimmed through the introductory stuff as fast as possible and then answered the questions according to which figure/diagram they asked about. Like answer everything about figure 1 first, then figure 2, then figures 1 and 2, then figure 3, then all the other combos. Oh, and if you see a really good answer, just mark it down on the spot. Don't bother making sure the other choices aren't right.

Thanks...I sometimes overanalyze answers and second guess them.

i'm taking it, never took it before.
i haven't taken a practice test or anything but i hope to get a 34 or better.

Hi, Yes, I am taking it this Saturday. Its my first time so I am not aware of how different it is from the SAT. Can someone here plz explain the format. How should i study for it, what kind of questions are in it.. ? thanks..

This ACT score will mean everything to me Saturday. It's my last chance to get my score up.

It will mean everything to me too because its my only hope of getting into my now reach RD schools since my SAT score blows. What prep are you doing Ivy?

Good luck to all of you this coming Saturday and can anyone tell me how often the ACT's are offered during the year? Thanks.

pari, I prepped for the last ACT for my alleged weaknesses and this is what happened.

In June I scored high in Reading and Science. Math and English didn't go so well.

In October I got high 30s in Math and English after prepping, because I figured that I didn't need any work with Reading in Science. Of course, my grade faltered and I'm back at square one.

So for this one. I guess I only have one week. I'm probably going to do a few practice tests.

Parik, everything on my APP is up to par if not better. My damn ACT/SAT scores are holding everything back.

Does anyone know how accurate the PR tests are?? I'm really scared about this test because this is my absolute last chance to get at least a 26-30 for University of Michigan to consider me. My math score ended up being the second highest, which is odd because my math score on the actual ACT's was the lowest.

Also, does anyone know the best way to fall asleep the night before the test? I couldn't sleep at all the night before the last test and I was extremely tired.

I'd like to know how to fall asleep as well besides "not thinking about it"...

IvyLeague what scores did you get? My weaknesses are Reading/Sci all because of time. I'm thinking about downing a redbull so I can move faster, but idk how smart this is. What strategy did you use for Reading? I can't finish in time...

Get <3 hours of sleep the night before the night before. It worked for me.

I might try that...didn't you feel sleepy in school?

u would probably, but act > school

Well I do that every night, and yes I'm always tired in school.

wow..what do you stay up all night doing>?

Do you guys read every word of ever reading passage? I ran of time today. I think I have to skim one of them.
