Anyone got writing experimental? I had one section with B.S Woo and one with African travelogue.
Unsure about:
1) There seems to be many ways to solve this problem, but only one will bring about the desired result.
Is there anything wrong with "there seems to be"? For some reason, I circled it wrong cuz I thought it should be seem to be, as many ways is plural
Does anyone remember anything else?

I circled it too. That section was experimental?

don't know im trying to figure it out

i got the Africa/parks thing. That was a dumb passage! Maybe it was experimental.

schitz, I think we had the same test. WHat did you put for the question about Haiku poetry in section 10, I chose B, "but writing it is a challenge or something

Yup, I chose that one too. Are you international?

yep thank god someone knows what im talking about :)

what about the question about Mr.Bruce's departure, was the answer no one's departure will hurt our department's reputation as much as Mr.Bruce's will?

Do you remember the passage about the girl who wanted to do sculpting, but then fell in love with someone else's work?

Some questions I remember:

Last one: Which statement from the text does the last paragraph try to explain? I put "I fell in love."

Why did she like that lady's paintings? I remember one option was the beauty, another options was her techniques, but I chose something about vitality.

And the sunflower question!!! God that was hard for me... I chose the option that it foreshadows her appreciation of that lady's work... The other options seemed ridiculous, like the one about the sunflower reference emphasizing the girl's appreciation of Japanese flower arranging... But I wasn't sure about the answer I selected...!

Can't remember the other ones... but I'm really worried about this passage because I ran out of time to double check my answers...

was there any no errors for on the writing section with the abe lincoln essay

I didn't choose "Nothing will hurt our school's reputation like no other than Mr. Bruce's departure." I think I chose the one you said, but it was worded a little differently. It was like, "Nothing will hurt our school's rep more than Mr. Bruce's departure."

yes I chose everything u said. And yes, agreed, the japanese girl passage was definitely tricky. I mean the first reading section was definitely harder than i thought it would be. What about the mars passages? For the question "what would both authors likely agree on", was it that the conditions onmars are not conducive to life forms on earth"?

timeofyourlife, i had writing experimental, which section are u referring to (i.e. the one about travelogue or B.S.Woo)

I can't remember the mars questions now... I remember one question - can't remember the section, lol - that was a contrast between two passages, and a new piece of information was introduced, and the question was: How would the second author respond to this piece of information? A) Mildly indifferent. B) ? C) ? D) Sort of agree. E) Full heartedly agree. Wow, sucky memory.

Okay, I should probably ask first: do you remember what the other compare passages section was about? That would probably jog my memory some.

yea, i vaguely remember something like that ooo i know, it was about stand-up comedy

i put E I think completely agree about that comedy should be spontanous

there is an question with answers :
A)...
B)In addition to ...
C)
D) Besides their promising
E) Althought there are promises by them

what did u guys choose???

I put E

hmmm different version perhaps? dont remember

i think i put A
in their promise..., they...
E is incorrect because it's passive voice
ETS shuns passive voice

THANK YOU. Ugh, that was killing me.

The question was would the first author agree with the statement that critics find wit to be based on surprise mentioned in the second passage. I chose that he would agree.

And the last question!!! It was about what purposes the two articles served: I chose that the first author thought comedians were futile, whereas the second author applauded them for their bravery.
