i think that was the dismay and awe question…

the choices were like, they were dismayed by shadow, awed by shadow, or the shadow alludes to Dennis’s superiority over the siblings

SATManiac, I think we might have a different version of the test. The Lincoln memorial had no connection with Dennis’ description; rather, he had visited the Lincoln memorial twice.

I am 100% sure about the following:
1.) glib
2.) misguided
3.) dismay
4.) overstatement

People who don’t agree seemed to have put the exact opposites of these answers. Therefore, I think maybe there were 2 slightly different versions of the test.

brosfam you’re right, but the passage also compared him to it. The passage said somthing like Dennis was like the LIncoln memorial - “which he visited twice.”

I put awe, but I really have no idea.

1.) pahhahah. neither of these.
2.) misguided
3.) dismay
4.) overstatement
5.) reconciling the differences

another choice was his absolute power over the family, i think. and another choice was his sinister personality, or something like that.

Maybe brosfam, but not very likely.
I think both dismay and awe are right. But for some odd reason, when I read the question I automatically chose awe. Hm.

I think Dennis’ casting a shadow over the other siblings holds a negative connotation in and of itself :/

you’re right brosfam

good lol

I also don’t agree with the consensus about glib being wrong. Did anyone have writing experimental and believes glib is the correct answer? I think different versions of the test were created.

glib was SOO about passage 1. i specifically looked up to passage 1 to read about it.

you’re right keane fan

I think it’s glib too

Keane Fan, are you saying that glib is right? Because if so, I agree :P

Also, did anyone see “too subjective” as an answer for a Shakespeare question? That WAS NOT the answer, right?

I’m pretty sure your right

I saw the answer, and I remember I crossed it off.

I chose that glib, since I remeber clarity…

I chose glib as well. My form asked about passage 1 for sure…

for shakespeare.
i remember putting that author II thought I had judges on a very narrow standard/ or used only one aspect (something along those lines)

i also put that passage II would criticize/not agree with the view of passage one. other choices were that passage II answers the questions raised in passage one.

whatd u guys get

1) I don’t remember

2) I agree
