i am guessing 17% acceptance for total EA and… 36% acceptance for CC EA

I read an article in The Hoya (Georgetown’s major newspaper) in which the Dean of Admissions said that he wants to use the same admit rate for EA this year as the one from regular decision last year. That would mean an admit rate of 18%.

Yeah, I read that, too. But they are “trying” for 18%. I bet you the evil admissions process will still knock off a percentage point or two  at least we should brace ourselves for that

hmm…i never really realized how small 18% is. highlight the first 6 names and see how few people get in…wow

^I did the same thing…frightening

18% = ridiculous. I applied EA thinking I had at least a sliver of a chance…then it hit me that 82% of applicants (most of them ridiculously qualified) get rejected. 82%.

i dont get it. at least everyone on cc seems qualified to me…what more do they want?!

recruited athletes, legacies, connections can usually take up a lot of space that would have gone to those more qualified candidates

the admit rate among CC is markedly higher than the overall rate. judging by the [[CC stats profiles](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/profiles/index.html), of those who updated their profile with a decision, 2/3 got accepted. (that of course, is assuming all the accepted students were accepted in EA and not deferred and later accepted). Broadening to all applicants, whether EA or RD (assuming all deferred were rejected, and all waitlisted were rejected), the number is closer to 3/5 acceptance rate.

of course, there’s a dozen catches to all the data. some people may lie. if you got rejected you may be more unlikely to update your profile than those accepted. People who update their stats profiles may not be an accurate subsection of CC as a whole, etc. And of course, posting on CC or updating your profile won’t magically triple your chance of acceptance. But I think it’s still an interesting ballpark figure

And of course, I’d ask all you guys to post a stats profile and update it, because it makes sorting through the data a lot easier.

I don’t think I can get in anyway. My interviewer gave me a tough interview- boring and nonchalant and she kept suggesting me to apply for some other schools.

Hey we are officially “in the month.” Weeee.

Hmmm…I now think I definitely should have sent in those AP scores…

^^^ Do “official” AP score reports even get considered in the admissions process? I sent mine to G’town, so I’m wondering if I wasted a few dollars or not. I wonder if they even want to see the report or if the reports even get to the admissions office at all!

no, all ap scores are just self-reported

E.Olenska-- The Age of Innocence right?
Yeah, I get a terrible feeling in my gut whenever I think about my interview.
