<p>ACCEPTED to Fu Foundation! and then I looked at my financial package... :-(
Parent contribution is $39,000!!! No Way!! My efc was only $23,000; is it possible the financial aid office made a mistake? Otherwise I won't be able to afford tution.</p>

<p>That totally sucks! Does Columbia 'de facto reject' people by giving them inadequate financial aid?</p>

<p>No, they don't. Admissions is need blind. And, why would they accept someone they wouldn't want to come?</p>

<p>When you say your EFC is 23,000, do you mean your FAFSA EFC or your institutional (based on CSS and Columbia app)? They take a lot into account that FAFSA doesn't, like assets, house, etc.</p>
