Official Decision Thread Class of 2012

blahhhhhh somebody please calllllll. i want it NOWWW

has anybody called to see when they are mailing/mailed them???

I already nominated YOU! Why haven't you called yet.

I was told they are mailing them this Friday the 28th....

Ack. So frustrating!!!

That means we're probably going to get them no earlier than April 1. SHOOT!

that is so funny that they only mailed out the west coast letters
but that does make sense about the planning for visiting and whatnot
has anyone heard anything (good, bad, whatever) about overnight programs or gone on one at bucknell? i'd much rather stay over and experience some nighttime fun than admit day...

I was wondering the same thing breckw. I want to see what the night life is like just as much as day life!

Also, just because we live on the east coast doesn't mean we don't have hectic schedules that need to be altered. I have sports, confirmations and family committments over the next few weekends that I need to finalize. Sorry my frustration is spilling over into everything...this has been a looooonnngg wait.

i double checked...they are mailing the 28th. i really don't think many have recieved their decisions yet.

One more "me too" reply - my wife called admissions - they told her they expected to mail this Friday (3/28). They also told her they received about 9,000 applications for 900 regular decision spaces. Holy demographics, Batman!

im in MA so ill probably get it monday :( :( or tuesday :( cmon bucknell, send it today!

CRAP! that's 10% admitence?!?!?!?!?!? that's lower then iveys....

it's not 10%. they accept more than 900 because not everyone that is accepted actually attends

Yea, they'll accept about 2,700 - 3,300.

Plus it's harder to get into ivies since ivies have more competitive applicants, so acceptance rate does not tell the whole story.

Wow, WhistlePig, I got about the same number you did, around 2700- low 3000s. They generally accept 33-36 % of their students. Their acceptance rate is very similar to NYU and George Washington University. Key Note: Because they have a generally selective admissions process, the INTEREST you show in your application will be viewed very meticuosly. They are only going to accept people who they think will attend/have a desire to be on their campus. Plain and simple.

i would be rather surprised if bucknell accepted more than 2700 applicants this year, especially if the ~9000 number is correct.

by the way, the acceptance rate was 29.9% last year, and short of a highly destructive hurricane or $10,000 tuition hike, not many top 50 schools have found ways to become less competitive over the last few years.

(the 9000 number would also be somewhat disappointing as it would mean bucknell is no longer the most-applied-to liberal arts college in the country.)

i think my credentials are pretyt good, but i never visited bucknell nor did i have an interview and i live probably 2-3 hours away, will this mean i probably wont get in? sadly right now, if i get in that's where i';m going....but they wont' know that...

according to someone in admissions, they don't grant interviews. i'm also 2-3 hours away. good luck...

When are we going to get our decision? I'm dying.
