Common App: I have a dream that my family moves to South Carolina and I have to live by myself for senior year. I’m really excited at first, but get more and more nervous as I watch my family slowly leave. I wake up in my apartment–and then it becomes clear that this dream actually happened. (10)
Supplement: The real reason I want to attend BU is to join their people-watching club, so my essay was all about the different places and people I would see/observe as a member of the club. Written very carefully with directions, a five-day schedule of creeping, and specific professors/programs mentioned. (10+)

[] Strengths: my stats were a match I think and just I’m URM that lives overseas on military base.
[] Weaknesses: dunno
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I had expected to be accepted because I thought I had solid stats.
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
Accepted: UC irvine, UC davis, CU Boulder
Rejected: UCLA
Wait-listed: UCSD
Waiting: USC, BC, C of W&M

[/ul]General Comments: It’s weird because someone in my school who is ranked #2 and has solid EC’s got wait-listed… so I don’t know why I got accepted above her (my SAT was only higher by 100?) but I’m still happy! They’re giving me $30,000 in grants and a federal loan so it’s a really good option for me now ^^
