** Official Decision Thread EA Class of 2013 **

optical illusion, I got the Notre Dame Scholar thing too. I have no idea what it means!

From what I understand, being a Notre Dame Scholar means that you are in the top 20% of students that Notre Dame admitted and you are supposed to receive preferential financial aid..

Since people in the midwest/california already have decisions, us east coasties should get letters tomorrow.

^Word, maybe tomorrow. But this forum has given me hope-a lot of white kids from public schools (like me) are getting in with similar or lower stats. Of course, this is not giving us the whole picture because the rejected kids are probably too depressed to post their stuff, so it's possible a lot of great people have been shot down and we just don't know it.

Decision: Accepted!

Other Factors: Notre Dame Scholar

Yeah, this thread defnitely upped my hopes. Especially in comparison to the "stanford slaughter" (WOW) and similar stuff with gtown. Good luck buddy. Let's hope for the best tomorrow.

And I got my letter on Saturday if that helps anyone

haha yeah compared to Stanford, it seems like Notre Dame has the same high standards for admittance as a community college...

Never thought I'd see so many damn rejections of qualified students

What size is the envelope?

iomr, if that's how you look at it let's hope you don't choose Notre Dame. There's nothing more pathetic than basing one's admiration of a school on the percentage of applicants it rejects. Notre Dame is a more beautiful school than any of the Ivies, and people who lust after the latter usually do so for petty reasons. Do you really have a problem with a student body of 8000 with an average SAT of 1400+? If that's what you consider community college standards, I'd like to know what community you're from. You would do well to compare two schools like the University of Chicago and Brown. The former admits about twice the percentage that the latter does, but there's no contest academically.

Anticipation16- it's a white 8.5 X 11

aristophanes- I totally agree

iomr- If you want to keep complaining about Stanford and bashing on Notre Dame, then go on the Stanford pages

what's the deal? Why are there no people that were deferred or rejected? Do you think those letters went out later?
