Hey, I know RD’s still a week off, but I thought we might as well get a thread started :-). EDers and Early Notified’ers feel free to post too!

Don’t forget to post your decision (accepted/rejected/waitlisted) and stats-- SATs, GPA, ECs, hook(if any), Rank, etc… (only if you feel comfortable doing so :-)).

Admitted. I feel sweet, I am the first to reply, heh. I applied RD, but was notified early for the Bowdoin experience. I am pumped. Anyone else doing that, IM me, it'd be nice to chat.

From suburban Cleveland, OH,

5's on a buncha AP's (do they even consider AP's??)
8/380 (competitive public), 4.4 GPA

Good extracirriculars. Good leadership in most. As far as hooks, I suppose I've done some pretty individual stuff. I've lived in Africa, volunteered in Mexico. Colleges have wanted me to swim for em, and Bowdoin mentioned it in the letters they've sent, but, nothing special. They obviously won't give me money for it (DIII...). So, whatever. BTW, Maine is beautiful. I've spent summers there for as long as I can remember, at my grandma's house on the ocean. I'm hoping Bowdoing is just as idyllic. Looks like it from what I can tell.

Sorry for the useless rambling. Good luck to all.

Sorry to break from the format.
I received my letter in the mail today. I live outside of NYC.
I was wait-listed! It's my third waiting list (Wesleyan, Tufts, and finally...Bowdoin). I don't know what to do!
For now, I think I have plans to attend Vanderbilt.
I plan on staying on all three waiting lists.

Waitlisted. My fifth waitlist (Williams, Wesleyan, Bates, Vassar.. and Bowdoin). I don't quite feel like posting stats right now, but I'm sure they're posted somewhere on CC if you really want to find them. I'll stay on all my waitlists, but basically I'm going to Colby. That was an easy choice -- my first, last and only acceptance.

Admitted. I'm so happy, I got in after being flat out rejected by the Ivy League, I very glad to get in. I will admit that, my SAT scores may have not been up to par, but I had a few "hooks" up my sleeve. I look forward to seeing eveyone at the Bowdoin experience.

I honestly thought I'd be waitlisted because Bowdoin doesn't put much weight on SATs which are the strongest part of my app. Good luck to those on the waitlist, and I hope everyone goes somewhere they like.

Rejected... :(
Long Island, NY
SATs - 1460 (770V 690M)
GPA - unsure, mid 90s
Taking AP Biology, AP Micro, AP Macro, AP Calculus, AP Psychology, AP American History
I had a really good interview..
Awesome ECs...sports, vice president of grade, in sooo many clubs and leading many as well..

Insertnamhere, the same thing happened to me, I got plenty of waitlists and rejections, and as you said, "even from a safety". So yes, I feel like I am extremely fortunate to get in.

For those people who were accepted (Both RD, ED II, and ED I) we should create a myspace group, that way we can get to know each other.

RunningforLife-what's weird is that when I was applying I thought I was being very conservative about the schools I was applying to, especially when compared to my friends, so the string of waitlists and rejections kinda blindsided me.

Oh well, at least I got into a college I was really excited about (Bowdoin) so I didnt have to play the waitlist game. I look forward to seeing you guys at one of the Open Houses (I'm coming up for the one on the 22nd)
