hoyl damn man, I almost got busted by security tonight @ b-los. Quinby was AMAZING tonight.

Everyone come party with travis and me. It'll be the pimp.

:-p

accepted. I was wait listed at Brown. I think I'll call Bowdoin my first choice and tell all the other colleges I won't go, so I can give other wait listers a chance. But I'm still hoping for Brown. All those rejected or wait listed: don't sweat it. These admissions are often such a crap shoot.

hrmmm is there perhaps any way to delete old posts?

hahah hey Brownsurfer, I was w/l at Brown too last year, and I came to Bowdoin and didn't look back. College admissions are so lame, it's all a business. Welcome to Brunswick.

And Oliver, Quinby WAS amazing. sry about security.

Thanks Travis. Did you stay active on the wait list, or did you pretty much just say "screw it"?

Hey, I did stay on the waitlist because I had always been drawn to Brown (and I figured I had nothing to lose by staying), and I sent them a letter too, but I didn't get in after all. Oh well - everything happens for a reason, I guess - and that reason for me is the awesomeness of Bowdoin.

I still havent heard, my buddy at school heard on the 2nd and we live in the same town. He got waitlisted, do you think its better or worse that my letter is coming later. 1400 SATs good SAT2s and great ec's. Hopefully the big letter takes longer to mail. I live just outside of albany. What do you think my chances are?

call the admissions office maybe - it seems like it should be there by now

accepted

1450 SAT
10/165 rank
lots of ecs
football recruit

accepted!
1530 / 3.7 / no ec's

Is anyone else from texas going to the admitted students day on the 18th?

I'm from Texas. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to the Bowdoin Experience. Where in Texas are you from? Are you sure you're going to Bowdoin?

Accepted! :) Curious to know what exactly will be going on at the Bowdoin experience? Is it specifically created for minority students to "experience" Bowdoin for four days? What did they mean by "a small group of diverse students" or s/t of the like?

it's specifically for "exceptional minority students," as far as i know. there will be a bunch of students there on the friday of experience weekend for an admitted students day who are not actually part of the "bowdoin experience," though. they plan a ton of events for the weekend - you'll most likely have a ton of fun, but be forwarned, if this is a factor in your decision, that you'll see more minority students on campus during experience weekend than you'll ever see as a student here. it's not that bowdoin is completely without racial diversity - it's just that there's less of it than they try to lead you to believe.

Are we allowed to attend the experience weekend activities for admitted students?I mean after all, we were admitted.lol... ;)

hm - i'm not sure i understand what you mean. before i address that, though - i'm betting that the events on friday will be the same for experience kids and "plain old" admitted students, but there might be a few extra events planned for the experience kids. (i could be completely wrong about this.)

but are you asking if, as an experience student, you can attend the regular admissions events on that day? if this is what you're asking, i am betting that you wouldn't want to - the experience events are probably going to be better.
