Also, I will be going to to the Barnard weekend 19-20/04. ALso a National Merit semi

Congratulations to all that applied, because the application in itself was tough. You are all amazing!

Hi everyone I am completely new to this and it really sucks that i just found it but better late than never. So my name is Jannelle, I am from Miami, FL and I received my acceptance letter/package (Regular Decision) in the mail yesterday! I was ecstatic, the thought of attending Barnard is thrilling but unfortunately it seems my dream maybe cut short because of what the school expects my parents to contribute.:((…i was wondering if those of you who were accepted could please fill me in a little bit on your financial aid packages and how you are coping with them. thanks a lot!!!

I think it all depends on how much your parents make a year. My father has been laid off work for about 2 years already, so only my mom works. Thus, Barnard is giving me 48,552 as grant each year. I myself have to pay like 5300 a year? But honestly, 5300 a year is a lot for me since I will have to pay for this by myself. I think everything’s pretty much proportional. It’s all based on needs.

Dancingqueen, you need to have your parents call the financial aid office and discuss the package they sent. It does depend on on your parent’s income and such and is a pretty complicated process that is re-calculated every year you are there. There are lots of factors that are being considered, so have them make sure everything is as it should be…

Good luck to you and your parents. It’s a huge commitment and you need to thank them very, very much for considering it…

omg, this was my first choice , i’m so not getting in! All these scores are AMAZING. I know it’s not just about test scores but there’s no way I’m getting in. I know it.
