@Hoping4UC - Hang in there. Remember, these denials do not define you. It’s a numbers game–too many applicants for a certain amount of slots (that the state can budget for). This does not define you, you will get into a college! :)

@HopingForUC You have good numbers and good ECs, they may have rejected you knowing you’d probably get into a higher tier and choose that school instead

thanks sfmom3 & JustAThespian, i have gotten into 2 colleges so far and i guess a rejection from a school i thought that i was basically a shoe in hurts… and UC schools are much more affordable :/

uc gpa: don’t know don’t remember don’t care. my regular one is a 3.8 i think my uc one is a little higher who knows
sat: 2100
extracurriculars: good
essays: pretty good not outstanding or anything

anyway, i have a question. i applied to the engineering school for computer science and on my ~acceptance page~ it didn’t indicate that i got into any specific school. does that mean i got into the university but not into the computer science program or…?

I didn’t apply to UCSC but this was all over facebook, so I had to come here! Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to those who haven’t gotten their emails yet!

@Hoping4UC: You were definitely a super competitive applicant for UCSC. There’s no explanation why you were rejected other than the admission guy who looked over your applicant probably had a bad day or something.

You’re definitely going to go far. Best of luck to you.
