YAY!

^There’s nothing wrong with the community college route. It has its pros and cons, but its an awesome financial decision because you can bang out the same courses you would take at a UC for a fraction of the price.

BUT, I am surprised that you got rejected! Perhaps its because it is a very competitive major?

From New Jersey
GPA: about 3.56 unweighted
five honors one ap

kingdomsroa48

I am not looking for branding in college. Just right fit. Only other UC I applied to is UCSB. I have enough grants (cal+fafsa+pell) to cover all my college expenses. I am glad for people who will be attending UCSC. Looks like college is not in my future.

accepted

Act: 25

Accepted!!!
3.5gpa
major: computer science

Math Club

EAOP

@Domination: Well, if you WERE to consider the CCC route, you can sign a TAG agreement and get accepted to virtually any UC you want, although Cal and UCLA are the exception. Nobody LOVES going to community college, but it makes a lot of dreams come true for people that were not accepted to a UC straight out of high school, or otherwise could not afford it. Just something to consider. On the other hand, if you really don’t wish to do this, I wish you luck in your future! Perhaps you will hear better news from UCSB. :)
