If u applied to UCLA or UCB, that’s why you didn’t get in. Check this out. This is nothing less than fraud on the part of UCSC! [Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog - UC Santa Cruz Update](Error). you might have to scroll up.
My son also got rejected from UCSC with 3.8, ACT 30, SAT 1980 and all the other bells and whistles.

I think it’s kind of amusing that some people who said they didn’t want to go to UCSC anyway and are angry they weren’t admitted to a college they think is inferior and were using as a safety are now talking about lawsuits.

My son was initially accepted for Fall 2011-12 as a freshman. However, his acceptance was rescinded when he discovered that a science class that he took at the community college in the Spring semester of his senior year wasn’t going to fulfill his A-G requirements (he received bad advice from his counselor). Trying to be proactive, he contacted UCSC immediately and tried to work out a solution so that he could attend in the fall (like taking a class in the summer)…Unfortunately, UCSC wouldn’t go for it. He tried to appeal with no luck…he even met with the Admissions Dean - he just said “too bad…we hope to see you here at UCSC as a transfer student”. My son thought he had a good chance at the appeal since he had been in a special program his last 2 years of high school, allowing him to attend college concurrently while taking his high school classes - he had a 4.2 GPA. Lesson learned - make sure to double check the advice from the counselors!

Since my son had been attending community college while in high school, he had accumulated about 45 college credits. So, this year, he’s been doing “Plan B” - attending community college and finishing all of his transfer requirements. It felt like ‘deja vu’ in November going through the college application process!

He just found out a few days ago that he’s been accepted (again) at UCSC - this time as a transfer student. YAY! We are happy that he will finally be able to attend his ‘dream’ school - UCSC.

Basically I have ‘two junior years’ and one of them has couples of C’s.
