[] major strength/weakness: No special EC's, not very many awards. Pretty much my strneghts were from physics activities (such as teaching course) and longterm church involvement
[li] why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: TBH i wasnt too excited to go to caltech (why i spent only like 5 hours on the app), so i think they saw that i didnt care and rejected me. That's not to say thats the only reason i didnt get in, but its cool. Can only control what I do, not what they do :) [/li][/ul][ b]Other Factors:**

to kokoda2, how come you already received your letter? you live in MA, right? all domestic applicants who posted their decisions here so far are all from CA, but how come the letter already reach MA?

[li] why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: Low SATs, low APs, only about 100 hours of community service, no research or national competitions[/li][/ul]Other Factors: Come from a low income community, school isn't very good (no one has been accepted to Caltech)

I'm not feeling very good right now. Part of me is disappointed, because I wanted to get into Caltech. Part of me is happy, because now my college decision is a little easier. I'm not sure what's going to happen. I'll probably go to a UC. Oh well, good luck to everyone else!

I am very worried... not of the decision but whether they had actually received my application in the first place. After I applied, I heard comformations from every college that they received my application except Caltech. Please tell me what to do I am very worried

Relax as much as you can. If Cal Tech actually does not have your application, it is too late to correct for this year! But it is much, much, much more likely that they have your application and have evaluated you and sent you a letter.

By the way, the same thing (no acknowledgement from Cal Tech) happened to my son. He emailed for confirmation, and found out two weeks later that his application was complete. So I recommend not worrying about the completeness or receipt of your application.
