Official Decisions Thread!

Feels weird posting here but...

...Rejected. My application all together was terrible; I felt the entire time like I didn't know why I was trying to graduate a year early from high school and jump into something way over my head, and I know it showed in my essays. I don't feel like posting stats because they're just plain silly.

Anyway, I decided I made a mistake in trying to get out of high school early, so I'm staying an extra year. Going to try again next year, I think, and attempt to look at more than just Caltech and CU-Boulder (a place I don't want to be).

Congrats to those that made it, tho! :)

Don't understand why you'd apply to a place you don't want to be. There are other options that you should explore to apply to places where you DO want to be--there are over 3000 schools to choose among, surely some of them will want you & be attractive to you.

No, I want to be at Caltech... I just made a mistake of when. At the end of my junior year of high school isn't for me after all.

Well I guess at the same time next year we shall see if I made it. :D

I think she was referring to Boulder.

Agh, sorry, I misread something. Boulder was my safety choice.

I am young also. I am 16

Woohoo, poster!!! Has anyone else gotten a Caltech poster? It came in a large white envelope (slightly larger than the acceptance package).

This one's going right under my Cessna instrument panel poster.

-Oren

Grrr... I want a poster. :D
What does it look like?

The Poster

Sorry this took so long.... photobucket was being a pain.

-Oren

I used to get posters every month. Then they stopped coming. I guess they don't like me. :(

lol...Caltech sent you posters every month? How'd that come about?

Sometimes, I wish I stayed in high school... ;) Like, now... To see where I would have ended up in this process. Of course, an acceptance one year might be a rejection another.

Well, I was just accepted to Harvard, which I'm thrilled about. Unfortunately, because of a committment I made in a letter a few months ago, I have to enroll there- meaning I have to give up one hell of a school.

Thanks anyway to everyone who helped answer my questions!

Yeah, I love the poster! It's on my door :)

I got a poster! I'm happy now. But that might also be due to IB oral exams being over...
