General Comments/Congratulations/etc: Ouch, i'm pretty bummed. i believe i got deferred because my essays were average and nothing outstanding. i thought i had a decent shot, but guess not.

I really don't get why people with 1900's got into Wharton. And TDeucez, it's not about passion totally either. I had a great amount of passion in my ECs, showed it in my essay, my interview went extremely well.. he sent me a thank you note before I sent him one! I think a lot of it is also connections.

venus.ajar~You don't have passion because you think you do. I thought my interview went so-so, my essays too were just OK, not great. I read one rec and thought it to be generic. I think there is a difference of what you think is great and passionate and what the adcom sees as great as passionate.
Sorry, that you didn't get in but your comments are hurtful to these 1900 SAT scorer kids that got in.

That's kind of rude, venus.ajar, because to make a great student body, you can't just label them with numbers. They want people, not robots.

Yeah, Im a little offended... honestly the critical nature of this message board was one thing that really ticked me off about this board. I didnt post my stats up before the decision as a chance thread because I really didn't want to tell me I wasnt going to make it. Its so easy for people with close to perfect score to tell me Im not going get in. Im not a legacy, I dont have loads of money, I only met Stetson and Bezella at an information session in Dallas. I was only fortunate to meet an alumni that helped me out and recommended me. Other than that I dont really feel that I had any upper hand in this. And aslo, I didnt get into Wharton, I got into the College. I dont know if that makes a difference in your argument...

You Know Wat Tdeucez...you Are Perfectly Right...i Felt Thesame As You...i Did Not Want To Post My Numbers Because Of The Critical Nature Of The Board...but I Like The Board Non The Less....but I Think Too Many Ppl Based It On Numbers...and It Surprises Them That Penn And Other Ivy Leagues Apparently (i Know Some Other Ivy Acceptance) Are More Than 1-dimensional. Btw Did Venus Get Accepted...am Not Sure And I Dont Feel Like Looking?
P.s. It Feels Damn Great To See Ppl With 1900 And Other "low" Scores To Get In.....now I Know What They Mean By Diversity Lol. Granted Am Elated With The High Scorers That Got In...am A 2000 Accepted Applicant....and It Really Dont Matter What Others Say....am Going To ****ing Wharton Baby Yea......lol And Congrats Tduecez

i agree with the others venus. even though i got deferrede with a 2170, i am happy to see that low sat scorers got in. it just makes me appreciate penn for what they value in a student even more. great job guys, hopefully ill be there with you next fall too! :)

definetly dude...hope you get in

SATs are definitely not everything, even when you look at Harvard/Cornell/Yale etc.'s admissions too, really.

My dad also told me a long time ago that if you have an attitude of superiority or overconfidence going into something, it will never work out. And that has held true in my life so far.

yea i believe soo. to...and its just interesting to see how ppl ask other ppl on cc their chances of gettin in...when none of us had even gotten accepted yet...as if there was a cut of score to become penns admissions rep on cc lol that was hillarious
