I emailed Oberlin to see if my app was complete, and they told me that they mailed decision letters this afternoon (Thursday) so look for it in the mail Saturday/Monday or so.

You can just say the decision here and include stats if you want. Good luck everyone!

Hot diggity! This is the letter I've been waiting the most for. I got into NYU GSP, rejected from Denison U, and now I'm waiting to hear about oberlin. I love this school, and the swim coaches have been awesome to me. I've got a good feeling about this.

bogororo, because I'm also from Romania, I wanted to ask u how and when did you find out the decision from Oberlin? I applied RD and i didn't receive anything yet...

my stats are on P R S T A T S :D. I've gotten the decision on tuesday, but I have no idea wether they sent the e-mails as they reached the decisions or if they sent them all at once.

I have NO IDEA how I managed to get that scholarship. I was psyched to get it, but unfortunately it's the only financial aid I'm getting from Oberlin (my EFC was very high) aside from an unsubsidized federal loan for ~$2,000.

Accepted
Stats: 4.2 GPA, Top 10%
ECs: CSF, Key Club, Track, Wrestling, Started own tutoring program, hopsital volunteer, teen council, young democrats

I got accepted today. They gave me $15,500/year grant and some small loans. My EFC was pretty high. I'm gonna have to apply for a federal PLUS loan or something. I've still got like 20,000/year to cover. No merit aid, Oberlin was really a reach for me. 3.9w/3.6uw like 130/950 class rank. 1280 SAT.

Wait-listed and so upset about it. 4.6w/3.8uw, 4/366, 1210 SAT, 730Wr/600US/570Sp, 29 ACT, very strong EC's, great recs. Ugh, yeah, I know my test scores aren't great, but I thought my ec's, recs, and GPA would balance that out. :-(

I got the John F. Oberlin too... is it really merit based, or just another name for a grant?... curious if I should have it announced at graduatoin... 12k a year, plus about 8k in "grants" and 6k in loan/work study... not bad.
If the John F. Oberlin is merit based, here are my stats (i didnt think they were scholarship caliber, but hey)
33 ACT
4 semester B's all through high school (3 in math subjects, 1 in history)....
5 AP classes
ed-in-chief of newspaper, school P.A. announcer/event emcee... plenty other things I do
from San Francisco
