Official Decisions Thread

Rejected :( (The first College that rejected me)
I guess I will be going to UCLA then :)

accepted :)

Can someone give me the url? I received an EE letter, but I did not receive any notification that allowed me to check my status for the official decision.

Congrats to everyone that got accepted!

elizabeth22, I hope you don't mind me asking you this, but I was really wondering how good Wellesley is with aid so do you think you could either post or PM your EFC? I'm having a really crappy time with financial aid from the other schools that I got into, so I'm hoping for a miracle from Wellesley. Also, when did you complete your financial aid application (all of the forms--> 2004 1040's, W2's)? I sent my parents' 2004 1040's about a week ago so I'm wondering when I'll receive my financial aid letter. (Jeeze, I feel kind of dumb posting this even though I haven't actually received an acceptance letter..eek.) Anyways, I'd understand if you'd rather not post the specific numbers, but I would really appreciate it! Congrats on your acceptance!

Rovee-

I sent you a PM :). I think you will get a financial aid letter with your acceptance letter. My 2004 stuff isn't in, but my 2003 stuff is...although it was late. In fact, everything except my FAFSA was late. They just said that if the 2004 stuff is different (it's not...if anything my parents made less) they'll have to adjust the package.

WHOOO!!!! It came in a big envelope, the letter tucked inside a folder that was stashed with various goodies and such. :)

I'm thrilled.

No email, though. Maybe I neglected to sign up for email notification...? Pretty sure I did, but the letter is much better.

Gosh I Can't Wait Anymore !!!!!!!!! Ahh!

Hey did your letters come with the regular US Postal service or through UPS or fedex? I live in California and the regular mailman already came. Do you think that I'll have to wait until Monday?

brown: I live in Ohio and haven't gotten my letter yet, so I doubt you'll get yours on Monday. Unless of course it is UPS or FedEx (oh please!!)

Of course I'm also waiting for Oberlin even though I'm in-state and other people have gotten their letters. So maybe geography doesn't mean as much as we think it does.

i also live in CA. i was a likely for EE and i haven't received a letter yet either. i did receive a poster yesterday, even though most people who did receive posters got them weeks ago.

Augh! I was a possible for EE, and this waiting is killing me. In SoCal.

I'm TERRIFIED right now. I was waitlisted at four colleges (Middlebury, Carleton, Grinnell, Colby) and I was at least pretty sure that I would get into Colby. All of the letters said that they've had the biggest number of applicants this year. I'm waiting on four more colleges and I thought I had a chance of getting into Wellesley until now!

Congrats to everyone who got in, I'm genuinely excited for you! Those on the waitlist, I KNOW HOW IT FEELS (especially after Colby sent their waitlist letter in a big envelope...)! And if you've been rejected, good luck, there are awesome schools out there who will love you.

Oh wow, Liana, I'm so sorry!

Argh, after this is all over I say we write Wellesley a letter imploring them to post decisions online for ALL of next year's applicants. Having to wait is awful!

wolf have u got ur decision yet?

elizabeth22 - thank you : )! Currently on a high.

cfish - congrats on LSE! That place has a good rep. Cold though so bring fat north face jackets if you decide to go.

silver_waves - mm, would encourage you not to accept the waitlist then. You have nothing to gain from it but to others it could mean a whole whole lot.

Thanks wolf. I agree. I think all colleges should have them online. :)

Nope no decision yet for me! I'm going crazy over here. I'd better get it on Monday!!

the wait's killing me... but i dont think that they should popst decisions online. i like opening the package. ucla had me check online and it was jsut so .. ugh. i think they should jsut send out the letters for father places first (ie california.)

*and yes i realize im being super selfish right now :)

Fine, we'll compromise....have them send out letters on a Monday so that no one has to suffer through Sunday, the no-mail day! :)

I think on line is reasonable and those who want to wait for letters can keep their computers undercontrol.

D has not heard yet (west coast) but after getting into several UCs feels the pressure is off and will probably not pursue any school that waitlists her. She feels it is time to consider the schools that recognize what she offers and want her to attend. She is more concerned about how to approach the colleges that she will not accept when she makes a decision next month.

If you get waitlisted from a school you really want to attend, spend some energy but prepare to move on.
