Ergh… let’s hope for this weekend then? ;_;

To everyone waiting, just a reality check here, last year son applied in October EA, was deferred in December, and I checked the date we found out he was accepted - April 6th. That was a heck of a long wait - hope you all get good news sooner.

But I will say, the acceptance was still super sweet when it arrived…even in April.

:) thanks for the update, sportsmom42.
we are all hanging in there hoping it won’t be that long!

I hope you don’t have to wait that long either, oneoffonetogo! Not sure why it took so long. Son was a very solid applicant too - 30 ACT, 3.78 GPA, OOS, lots of ECs, tons of service, several awards. Good luck to all waiting and hope you get good news soon!

Thanks Mrs. Buzzkilington, I was so happy in my false sense that Michigan wouldn’t let their EA applicants wait so long. I may have to unbookmark this page. It’s too much of a disappointment haha

My son got deferred in December last year and then accepted on March15. He got his application in the last day for EA.

@goldenmom1 what were his stats?

None of the U-Mich sites are working for me! Anybody else facing this problem?

refer to posts #148 - #150 on http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1453256-university-michigan-class-2017-regular-decision.html

His SATs wee 2080. GPA was 3.7. 2 4 year varsity sports community service and various clubs. Compared to others who were and are presently deferred not at the top of the stats. Just proves that you never know and should not rely on what other potential students say when they chance you. His essays were wonderful and so were his recs. for as large a school Michigan is, they do use a holistic approach in the application process. Good luck to everyone. Btw, my sons acceptance was on wolverine access a few hours before he received an email.

Not sure how credible this is but I heard from my orchestra teacher that they might release decisions this week. Lets not get our hopes up but it’d make sense since its the last week in feb.

When do they normally notify students during the week? Is it usually on Friday or Saturday?

A Friday release of the next wave of notifications would be consistent with the “within two weeks” message that somebody here got from the Admissions office a little over a week ago.

^ That makes my hope up tremendously. Are we only talking about EA deferred applicants or RD applicants as well?

When you are deferred, you’re in the pool with RD applicants - anyone can receive their decisions now. And yes, usually they start coming out on Fridays, sometimes going into Saturday. Son also received his notice on WA, and got an email a couple of days later. Good luck to all.

can anyone chance me for LS&A :(
