@ EMMA, Unfortunately, you have a problem. If you are qualified as in-state you have the stats. OOS not so good!

@senna4ever

I sent a residency application last week. Is that not going to help now? My transcripts were all sent from DeWitt High School (which is in Michigan).

@EMMA, All I’m saying is that your chances increase dramatically if you qualify in-state. If you want to be a Wolverine, run to the fight, and make sure you follow through.

@senna

And what I’m asking is if that application is going to change my status now.

@EMMA, I do not know that answer… My advice would be to contact your admissions officer relentless…and explain your situation.

:disappointed_relieved: i just want to get accepted…this is too depressing…

I’m so nervous about this all. It seems SOME decisions were slooooowly leaked out, but very very few. What could this all mean? :(

Not sure if this really means anything but I was talking with my friend who had an interview for stage management at the school of music, theatre, and dance, and she said that in the interview they told her that the admissions office was backed up, so it might take a while for her to receive her decision (whether that means in paper or online, I’m not sure). Maybe this accounts for all of our decisions being withheld?

Emma – ride that residency app like a hawk! While no one ever said it makes a difference, my son was an EA who was classed as international. We dealt with residency right away, and in terms of timing, he received his residency one day and his admission the next. It could have been coincidental, or not. (this was 4 yrs ago)
You might also want to send a note explaining that your delay in applying to alter residency does not mean Mich isn’t your first choice, and that you hope this isn’t negatively affecting your admit status.

To the rest of you waiting, while I know this doesn’t help, just remember that no news is still possibly good news; that even if you end up wait listed, that still means you were qualified to attend.

My friend’s son was rejected the first time he applied. Then rejected again as a transfer app for sophomore year. Third time was a charm…he was accepted as a jr transfer, and graduated last year there’s something to be said for tenacity!

I know someone who is also waiting to hear from Kinesiology. How about nursing? Has anyone heard from the nursing school recently?

i havent heard from any1. i think im gonna get rejected :’(

Stay positive and be confident that things work out for the best (even though not always what we want)

@hopeful7878 I was deferred from nursing and still haven’t heard back and I think or at least I hope that for the smaller schools like nursing and Kinesology they wait until every applicant has been reviewed to make a decision because they can only admit a certain amount of people and they don’t want to fill up all the spots too quickly

Has the presence of the scholarship profile reflected acceptance in the past?

Unfortunately, I think everyone has the scholarship profile thing.

yeah i have it as well. michigan’s wait is becoming agonizing omg. i dont think i breathe on fridays anymore lol

@eaplm133 - I think you are right! I have not heard of anyone in the smaller schools being accepted or rejected since the initial acceptances/deferrals went out in December. I’m not sure how many they initallly accepted and how many spots still available out of the 140 spots. I hope they let us know soon. Good luck to you!

Villagemom’s son is a transfer. That’s a whole different deal than new freshman.

Gee… nobody from my school (including myself) has gotten anything at all. :(

still waiting… 3.88GPA UW, 33ACT, in state, all A’s 7th semester w/3 APs, volunteer and work experience, varsity sport, NHS… many people last year got in from my school with much less…this year seems harder.
