ok…so ppl w/ 18_ _ and 19_ _ and 20_ _ on their SAT’s can get accepted or at least deffered…and i cant get in even if i have family connections! w t h. screw duke. anyone who didn’t get in: it’s b/c ur too good for that school. duke is in the middle of nowhere…and the crime rate is very high. i just applied cause of family pressure. now i am free to apply and go anywhere i want to. same to all rejects like me. we are not losers. we are winners.

^ 2468… did you feel like venting a little? lol heavy sarcasm

Board scores are only a fraction of Duke applications, and other areas such as grades, essays, recommendations, and ECs are at a level equivalent or above than that of SATs and ACTs. Getting denied sucks, And i’d like to wish you the best of luck in finding a college that is perfect for you.

Congrats to everyone accepted, I look forward to seeing you and another 1,000 students yet to be admitted next fall!

The process is fair and is not wholly based on SAT scores. Yes you are most likely smart and will get into a school that is just as good. Your life is not over.
