[] Weaknesses: My CommonApp essay is a little kooky...
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: High school has been my time to bloom in interests and involvement and I hope it showed in my application. [/li][/ul]General Comments: Duke is pretty awesome. I don't like the campus or atmosphere as much as I like ummm a certain "blue school down the road" (which I can cross-enroll in classes if I go to either one!). Our financial situation is also pretty screwy, because I didn't get any of the fabulous merit scholarships nor can we afford the 20k a year that FAFSA thinks we can.

Best wishes for everyone else!!! Please don't be discouraged if you weren't accepted because this year is insane with applicants and worldly troubles =(

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/waitlisted/rejected: Applying to Duke was a last minute decision. By last minute, I mean I submitted my supplement 1.5 months late and my midyear reports only when they called my school's counseling office - and the only reason I even submitted those two was because the Duke interviewer assigned to me called . . . and my parents picked up on his call before I could delete it, so they had a talk with me about sending in the other required materials (remember, this was 1.5 months after the deadline had passed). I had originally decided not to finish my application after my EA acceptance to my dream school, but . . . eh, parents talked me into it even though a.) Duke's FA isn't that good, and b.) I'm not a good fit for Duke. (Read: UChicago is my dream school. Polar opposites, right?)[/li][/ul]General Comments: I'm not particularly devastated or anything. Once again, last minute, hastily-patched together application, so I'm only surprised in that they didn't reject me outright. I'm sure they picked up on my 'don't-really-want-to-go' vibe, so waitlist it was! Regardless, congrats to all who got in; Duke's an amazing school! And I'm not staying on the waitlist, but g'luck to those who are. And to those who got rejected: Think positive, you'll end up somewhere great regardless! :D
