Why did they send me emails in two parts? I hope I don’t get rejected twice. I’m too nervous to look.

Ah. Rejected. Apparently like 7% acceptance rate this year lol

Today is one of the happiest days I’ve had in years.

tsakashvilli, I saw your information. You are probably the strongest applicant out of all of us, and I know you’ll grow as an individual and contribute most effectively to Penn or Brown.

waitlisted…hoping for the best. in the meantime, gonna choose between georgetown and cornell i guess

Accepted!
Trinity-Economics

Thanks, Banned UBER. Good luck next year.

waitlisted people don’t hear back until mid-july…unless duke’s your first, i’d say go ahead with the stable offer. going to georgetown next year!

those who were accepted do you mind posting some stats?

I was waitlisted as well. Not too disappointed, I’ve already been accepted to my first choice :)

I was waitlisted too.
Why are there so many waitlisted? Did they just do that to everyone? lol

“Welcome to Duke University!
We have received your reply, and we are delighted you will be joining us next fall as a member of the Class of 2014.”

Hehehe…they are joking right? Or is it just the same generic message for freshman and transfers…

Oh well, I wouldn’t mind spending 5 years in college if 4 of them were at duke. lol

I was admitted to Duke for Fall 2010!
I am so excited!!
I wanted to know, has anyone visited Durham?
I’m African-American and the south has that racial stigma.

I hope I am not part of the class of 2014 either!

It’s a very nice environment…Visited and don’t think Duke is that Southern (I’m from Arkansas). I didn’t find any racial stigma (I’m a minority).

having a 3.0 gpa is bad?

Yes.

The Housing App makes it look like we’re going to be in East Campus with the freshmen…It’s becoming increasingly more difficult to believe that the “2014” status is an ephemeral error.

what gpa should i reach for?
soph year is the last year i can apply for transfer right?

@bak55221

I haven’t really seen a transferable GPA average but I know it is very competitive. The numbers below are from Collegeboard.com. As for your the year, Duke accepts Sophomore and Junior transfer. Therefore, if you plan to transfer as a Junior, Sophmore year at your current college is the latest this could be achieved.

Applied: 668

Admitted: 85

Enrolled: 40

From the Duke website:

So it sounds like we won’t be living on East Campus.

@dbroncos: You can actually transfer to Duke whenever you want in your college career, but no matter what, you must stay at Duke for at least 2 years before graduating.

i have been getting B, B+ and 1C’s for freshman year first semester
2 c’s second semester and 2 F’s (which i plan to retake… this summer )

hypothetically speaking… if i get A and A+'s for the summer, and next two semester will concider me?
