Netshark: If u did EA, it might not matter, but I would just send it anyway. When I was doing the Villanova application, they required us to make a resume in a neat chart form. By that time I already had gtown's in, but i liked the resume for villanova's so much, that i sent that to gtown. I said, "this is an updated version of my activities that is conveyed in an easier and more thorough manner....and so on.

that's exactly what my counselor said when he made me take calculus...he said "oh those east coast privates are scary schools take calculus"

I think I'll manage a B..with much kicking and screaming. I despise math

I agree with what tony said netshark, but it might be a bit late now to do it. I would wait to see if you get in EA, and if you don't, wait until the beginning of February and send them a "what I have been doing" letter..I've been taking notes adding things I've attended or honors I've won and such, just so I'll have a convenient little list for an update.

just tell them that it is only recent that u recieved these honors...

haha..i didnt put anything like math finalist...i didnt put much more than a page of activities....my biggest thing was Eagle Scout, and summer trips i took backpacking and camping.

haha thats weird manderz, we never talk about anything west then pennsylvania over here...prob cause only east of the mississippi matters...haha

From my understanding, it's not that formal. While the interviewers are referred to as the "scholarship board" in the letter I received, I highly doubt it's going to be an overly formal occassion based on my conversation with the enrollement officer--nothing that would require me to have any military knowledge (many people applying for these scholarships have no prior military experience). But believe me, I'm going to be dropping "sirs" all over the place. :)

Actually, the PMS at the University of Georgia (where this will be conducted) is a Captain (as is the enrollement officer). They're the only officers, along with 2 NCOs.

Ah, but the MS-IV instructor at Georgetown is a LTC, so ;-).. I was assuming that that was where you were applying for...

Is advancement allowed through your AFJROTC program? I know you can get an advancement in SROTC standing for Army ROTC, but not sure for AFROTC...?

Just had my requisite face-to-face interview w/ Army ROTC at UGA. Went pretty well, but nothing spectacular. I was interviewed by the enrollement officer only.

Also, I just returned a call from G-town Army ROTC...apparently they want to conduct a telophonic interview.

I'm not sure about advancement. I know if you enlist in the Air Force, having taken several years of AFJROTC, they bump your pay rate up. I don't think it gets you anywhere in SROTC, though (except they like to see that you've done 4 years of JROTC when your being evaluated for a scholarship).

Anyway, gotta run...my JROTC unit's marching in a parade this evening.

yeah i mean he had dinner with the assistant director of Gtown admissions....he is such a c*ck though, he loves making us go crazy over college admissions

Tonyap23 do you know if all alum. interviewers find out this week who got in, or is your hist. teacher just tight w/the assistant director of admissions?

I have a friend who is a frosh right now at G-town and is a member of GAAP and she said that letters would prob. get to us by the 12 or 13. The 12 is a Sun. so I'm guessing Mon. Dec. 13 is the date. 12 more days.

Woot! I just got a FULL RIDE from Marine NROTC (well, minus room and board). I'm sooooooo excited! And I've been thinking more and more about it, and I'm leaning more and more towards GT rather than the Naval Academy. I mean, what can I get there that I can't get at GT? I'll have the commission on graduation, plus I'll have tons of real life experience that the USNA grads won't have! But I'm not sure yet... I'm praying I get into GT!

Wait... get to us? So you mean they probably send them out the 10th or something? Wow. That just made me a lot more nervous... yet happy that I might find out sooner! :)
